hello there !i made this sometime ago, i always like to draw asian looking stuff, people, creatures heh, was trying with a shaolin priest in some peaceful warm environment, i enjoyed to paint this piece, was for fun and relaxation.Done in painter 7 with a touch of photoshop of course. oh yeah the name Shao-leen is written that way on purpose, its not a typo , sort of like a name or something heh bits me.

well i dont really have any free software at the moment, i bought photoshop 5.5 years ago and i still use it, Photoshop is one of most popular software for digital painting,try and look online for some freeware u can download and try it out.I definitely recommend photoshop or painter, painter is awesome just that maybe it is a little more complex to use at the beginning.

Shao-Leen, hmmm, once I saw this name, I have recalled a character in Mortal Kombat. Anyway, it's a very beautiful artwork indeed. The suroundings was done with careful study (I guess) and made it looks real. But there's something wrong, that's the way you colorize Shao Leen's face. Somehow it looks like a flat face, without depths. Maybe I am wrong, but.. I dunno. But of all, your artwork is awesome. Great job!

I have to tell you... You have done the most amazing job I have seen in quite a while... I think this would have to be one of the best deviations I have ever seen! Great job, and naturally a fav! This seen is relaxing, and yet seems a call to action.

That is, amazing. This may be one of my favorite pieces i've yet seen on DevaintART, Asian influenced art is just so, cool, and, i can't describe it. Taking a closer look at all the amazing details, i see a dripping blood from his katana, and, on the ground, balls, blue balls, or maybe rocks, but they almost look like Dragonballs! This is really incredible, i can't wait to check out more of your work, and this is a definite favorite of mine.

Look great, love it. Instant favorite. The only somewhat bad thing I noticed is the jewel-like thing on the vest or whatever. Or is it part of a necklace? It just looks too flat.

i absolutely love this, i so have to fav it. i love how the grass at the front makes it look as if you're peering through the grass at him, spying on him or something. the details are just...brilliant, i can't stop looking at it all. O_o so deserving of a dd.
