hello there !i made this sometime ago, i always like to draw asian looking stuff, people, creatures heh, was trying with a shaolin priest in some peaceful warm environment, i enjoyed to paint this piece, was for fun and relaxation.Done in painter 7 with a touch of photoshop of course. oh yeah the name Shao-leen is written that way on purpose, its not a typo , sort of like a name or something heh bits me.

I got all dizzy when I saw this because I was totally taken by it's detail. This is truly an awesome piece.

This is an absolutely incredibly well done piece of art. The overall painting is superb, with lots of detail, some great work on the textures and a good use of colours 
The falling leaves are a nice way to add a sense of movement to the picture, and at the same time emphasize the silence and stillness of the piece, and of the priest itself, who seems to stand unmovingly and strong in this environment so full of life
My only crit is that an Shaolin priest would probably look different actually, as far as I know they all praise simplicity and wear only simple orange robes. However, this is left up to you and your creative mind, so this is not really anything to complain about.
So, what else can I do but give this piece a favourite?

That guy is awesome, you cant mess with him, he could just breath on you and you would be defeated...the awesome power the piece radiates...its just seems like raw, unbridled, power...
The wilderness scene does definitly portray your 'warm' environment...good job there...

It's been a while since I've seen a DD that actually deserves it, all one sees there lately are photographs and naked women portraits.
Very nice colors and contrast, the focus on teh character, the foreground blades of grass and BG that are blurred out to show depth and bring even more focus to the center of this piece. The sword is awesome and I like all the little details the guy has that give him unique personality and make him stand out.
