Why does this controller cost so much? I can see a lot of time went into making it but for $130 it should at least have clean cut lines and a decent clear coat finish. Still looks cool though.

From my FAQ Journal Entry:

"Costs include not only the design work but also all of the materials, including paint, lights, special buttons, as well as the time and effort that goes into a controller, which is considerable. I do all this stuff myself, by hand, and that takes a long time. If anyone wants to build me a controller-customizing robot I will happily lower the prices, but until then there's not much I can do."

Remember that you're getting a new controller to start with, and that's forty five or fifty bucks straight out of the box. And it is clearcoated.

No offence but the clearcoat looks like it came out of a can, this is around the same price as a promodz or an imagine controller and they're using a spray gun with proper automotive 2k clear.

I can appreciate that a lot of hard work has gone into it, I refurb alloy wheels for a living so I know how much prep work goes into accomplishing something like this, its just that the price and quality of this controller doesn't match up with your competition.

No offense taken. I charge what I charge because that's what I feel my time, effort, and supply costs add up to. It's not like I make a living on this stuff, so I'm not really interested in trying to undercut my competition. I just let the customer decide what they want and what they're willing to pay, and if they think my stuff is too expensive that's fine. I'm a college student; believe me, if I had the time and capital to invest in a nicer setup with better equipment I would, but I don't. So I do the best I can with what I have, and some people think it's worth paying what I ask and some don't.
