Hey so how about a Warriors AU where Leafpool pulled a Bluestar and sent her kits to be raised by Crowfeather and Nightcloud

Okay so, Leafpool finds out that she’s pregnant. She’s not quite sure what to do, or who to confide in; I do think that she’d tell Squirrelflight, and maybe suggest that Squirrelflight raise the kits, but understandably Squirrelflight wouldn’t be so supportive of this idea, as she and Brambleclaw’s relationship is on the rocks still and she can’t lie to her Clan like that, and Leafpool would understand completely
She’d also tell Crowfeather, I think, when she’s able to corner him. He’d be surprised, maybe a little happy? But overall he’s panicked, because he’s trying to prove his loyalty to WindClan, and Nightcloud is expecting his kits now, so it’s not like he can join ThunderClan to raise his kids or have Leafpool join WindClan; that isn’t possible for Leafpool anyways, as she’s ThunderClan’s only medicine cat right now, and she can’t leave them when they’re so vulnerable
However, the answer comes unexpectantly from Barkface, who confides in Leafpool that it looks like many of WindClan’s kits won’t survive being kitted; Nightcloud’s pregnancy, for instance, is going south, and Barkface worries that the kits won’t survive
When she can, Leafpool goes to Nightcloud and explains that she’s pregnant, and offers her kits to Nightcloud to raise. At first, Nightcloud would be enraged; how dare the disloyal ThunderClan medicine cat try to replace her litter before they were even born?? However, as Nightcloud’s pregnancy continues and the lucklihood of the kit’s survival gets less and less, she agrees to take in Leafpool’s kits
So, Nightcloud, Leafpool, and Crowfeather make a plan (and maybe Barkface is in on it too); once the kit’s arrival gets closer, Nightcloud tells WindClan that she wants to give birth to her kits on her own and far away (as most the Clan believes that these kits are on the verge of death, they support her decision and let her grieve); meanwhile, Leafpool and Squirrelflight leave ThunderClan and meet up with her. The three mollies travel together to find a safe place for the kits to be born
Nightcloud starts kitting prematurely, to the surprise of them all. It’s a very complicated birth, and Nightcloud ends up giving birth to four kits, only one of whom survives. Nightcloud herself barely survives, but with Leafpool’s expertise and Squirrelflight’s assistance, she’s able to pull through. Nightcloud names him Breezekit, after he survived the blistering winds that he was born in. All three mollies dot on him endlessly, even as Nightcloud grieves the death of her other three kits
Not soon after, on a particularly snowy night, Leafpool gives birth. Fortunately, she gives birth to three healthy kits; Jaykit, Hollykit, and Lionkit. Immediately, Nightcloud grows fond of them; she believes that maybe, the spirits of her three dead kits will live on in these three. It takes Nightcloud no time to love them as much as she loves Breezekit, and Leafpool knows that they’ll be in good hands
After a few moons, Nightcloud decides its time to take the kits back to WindClan, before they can start developing memories. Leafpool and Squirrelflight are sad to see their kin go, but Nightcloud thanks them for what they’ve given her, and says she’ll tell them all about the kits and how they grow; internally, she already plans for Hollykit’s warrior name to be Hollyleaf
WindClan is surprised, but incredibly delighted to see Nightcloud return with four healthy kits. Breezekit, Lionkit, Hollykit, and Jaykit are all considered blessings to WindClan, and the children of Crowfeather and Nightcloud
Some extra things:
- Since Kestralflight is a little older than Jayfeather, he’d become the medicine cat of WindClan, giving Jayfeather the chance to be a warrior
- Hollyleaf and Breezepelt are the mama’s kids; Jayfeather and Lionblaze are the kids who are all “ew mom gross stop trying to groom uS IN FRONT OF OUR FRIENDS”
- Breezepaw’s mentor was canonically Whitetail; I think Hollypaw’s mentor would be Onestar (because I think Holly always had a sort of ‘bossy’ attitude and Onestar saw that she had potential to be a great leader when she grew up, so he wanted to ‘guide’ her; it resulted in a young Hollypaw constantly disagreeing with his leadership skills), Jaypaw’s given Ashfoot (because 1. thats his grandma and 2. shes the only cat patient enough for him), and Lionpaw would probably get Weaselfur
- Jayfeather absolutely 100 percent has a big gross crush on Kestralflight and his siblings keep embarrassing him about it
- Breezepelt actually has a really good relationship with his other siblings; finding out that they don’t share the same mother is a harsh blow to him (I’m not sure how that’d effect the story down the line, but it’d probably be super dramatic and give Breezepelt a bit more of a sympathetic character arc)
- With Jayfeather in WindClan, I think maybe Icecloud would become Leafpool’s apprentice? Why not it’s cute
- I think Crowfeather would still be kind of a shitty dad??? Like I don’t think the guy is very Father material, and like he only had kids to seem ‘more loyal’ to WindClan, but Nightcloud would make up for it by being NUMBER ONE MOM and all four siblings would support each other
