Wow, at first glance I thought that this was one of those surreal paintings, yet on closer inspection I see that it is a very well done photograph. I am truly enjoying the depth of feelings that I get from this picture; feelings that are a mix between dread, gut wrenching and creepy, yet it is one of those photos that you keep looking at no matter what. Looks almost like a modern day Grim Reaper.

You are correct, it is a hard picture to see because of the darkness surrounding the figure in the center. But in my opinion, that is what helps to make this such an amazing photo. The darkness encompassing the figure that is cloaked in shadows, all of these things send out a different feeling and message to the viewer.
I can see many people looking at this picture in fear of the unknown ... much like one would fear the grim reaper if he came knocking at their door. That is why I compared this to a modern day grim reaper with the hooded top, the gas mask to hide the face, and the object held in the hands (not sure if it is a shovel or what) in place of the normal scythe.
I do believe that this picture should have had more exposure then it does have.
