Well, Superman has been shown twice to be able to hillariously surpass goku in... Well everything, and recently there was a DB on deviantart that had Supes and Thor fight, Superman won, but only just.

I already explained this in another one of these but THOR WINS!
Thor is part ELDER GOD... mainly GAIA!
Not to mention that Mjolnir is OP as hell when it comes to magic:
Energy Projection: With Mjolnir, Thor can project powerful mystical blasts of energy. He can even channel energies for stronger energy attacks.
God Blast: Thor is capable of channeling different amounts of his godly energies in combination with the mystical properties of Mjolnir can be channeled through his hammer for a single massive blast known as the God Blast which is able to kill even immortals. His godly energy is so vast and powerful, that even when reinforced with the Belt of Strength, which should double Mjolnir's fortification and durability, when Thor channeled his godly energies into Mjolnir to destroy the Brain Dome of the mighty Celestial Exitar, the hammer shattered from the amount of power Thor channeled. The God Blast is so immensely powerful and destructive that it has proven capable of causing such a great degree of damage to a starving Galactus that he was forced to flee for his life. Thor can send the God Blast to the core of Ego the Living Planet and Alter Ego and render both comatose.
Anti-Force: Thor is capable of producing an indescribably powerful blast known as the Anti-Force which is capable of annihilating entire planets.
Thermal Explosion: Thor can generate an amount of thermal energy so powerful that it is able to defeat villains like Ego the Living Planet.
Then there's the fact that even WITHOUT Mjolnir, Thor can summon both Rain and lightning bolts to strike whoever he wishes.... even when being choked. NOT to mention he can shoot lightning out of HIS FUCKING HANDS ... so basically he has "UNLIMITED... POWAH!!!!!!" (sorry had to)
Not counting the fact that it also let's him instantly create a thunderstorm strong enough to INSTANTLY blot out the sun and instantly allow Thor to play the role of Doomsday in that one comic where Superman "DIED!"
Then there's the fact that Mjonir weighs a CRAPLOAD if your not worth, and being THE TRUE MASTER OF MJOLNIR, he can also will unto others the ability to wield the mystical hammer, bypassing the worthiness enchantment, and also empower them with his own godly abilities.
So it stands to reason that he could ALSO undo that little caveat of being WORTHY enough to wield Mjolnir... and make it so ONLY HE is worthy of lifting it.
We all admit that Goku is going to die first... so the entire fight is just Thor beating the living PISS out of Superman.

Superman is the winner.
Goku is not as famous as Superman but probably more than Thor.
Superman is the archetype of the hero. The most famous on. He is expected to win because he is the most iconic. The one even your grand-father knows.
Goku is not as famous as Superman but close and people have similar expectation , he could be just as god-like...and do the same things whenever Toriyama decide to.
They are cartoonish characters. Variable strength in incoherent worlds with no real logic.
Fuck facts , there is no such things ^^
Here is my pronostic.
1Superman
2Goku
3Thor

Your argument has nothing to do with the actual power levels of the characters lol? Thor ends this with a godblast.

Of course , that is the point ^^.
You cannot talk about "facts" on such things. There is no such thing as "actual power level".

Yeah their is. By your logic Batman would beat Superman to death because he's a far more popular character than Superman. All 3 of these guys have very clear limitations and even factual stats listed by the creators. Anyway Thor should win by simply draining Goku and Superman of their respective power sources using his hammer.

No because Batman is not supposed to be that kind of superhero.
He is smart but not known because of his strength.
We dont expect him to win in terms of strength.
Goku/Superman/Thor , are expected to win with pure strength because they are that kind of heroes.
No , nothing is factual , everything change as soon as we see another movie/cartoon/manga... Each time directors change things , put new elements in the story etc.
As an exemple , It wouldn't be Out of character for Goku to become allmighty-Godlike(and i'm not talking about SSJgod) , just as Superman is (or once was.)in an hypothetical movie/manga or whatever.
When we think about SuperHero there are some name that come first to mind. In western pop-Culture it is mainly Superman. Everyone knows superman for being the archetype of the Superhero , even our grand parents know him.
Goku is becoming exactly the same kind of character.
This is why they can do absolutely whatever we want them to do . ESPECIALLY breaking their own "rules."
May i remind you that at the beginning Sup'Had hard time lifting a truck or wasn't even a flying character...
Or that Goku has enough energy to destroy stars but suddenly cannot lift more than 40 Tons with that same energy ?!
There is no rules. No definitive rules. Especially in DBZ that doesn't give a f*** about strength display or consistency.
Such characters are so iconic that they cannot be understood anymore without exterior/real eyes.
They are so iconic and so strong that there is no limit.
Another thing.
DBZ is a humourous/fighting cartoon . Superman is a kind of US patriotic character .
I don't know about Thor.
Those elements are extremely important in order to understand what these characters are , what they are able to do or what they may be able to do.
Even more important than what you may call "facts" . Because such elements just keep changing those "facts."
Sorry for my english.
Bah , it doesn't matter , i just can't talk seriously about fictional characters. Especially about two of the most iconic among them all.

Your argument is hypercritical. It's not who would win in a popularity contest it's who would win in a fight. Btw the Superman who had a hard time lifting the truck and couldn't fly was from a different universe so none of that applies to any other incarnation of Superman and Goku has never destroyed a star. Either way my votes still on Thor and none of your pointless ramblings on how popular each character is changes that.
