Description
Just a little after action report of the the recent episode from a few key players.I actually thought Rainbow Falls was a damn good episode, minus a few grievances (Spitfire was understandable in Wonderbolt Academy, being in a training environment and all, but this is ridiculous.)
Anyway, just a quick fun thing, cause I never get to do episode specific stuff.

Being a bitch isn't a bad thing. If there were no bitches, nothing would ever get done. At least nothing for women. All a bitch is, is a woman who doesn't take any shit. There can certainly be mean bitches, but being mean is not the true meaning of the word. I'm all in favor of women being bitches, as long as they aren't the mean kind.
That being said, Spitfire is (in the words of my favorite TV doctor House) a
"Cutthroat bitch."
Maybe someday she'll learn to just be tough, and stop being a dick. One can hope

Being a bitch, much like being a bastard, means you're a fucking asshole of a specific gender. A bitch isn't someone who doesn't take shit, a bitch is someone who spreads shit.
The world needs more hardass women, but no one needs a higher level of bitchiness.

While I appreciate your feedback, as men I believe we should take the word of the women in our lives when it comes to these matters. It was my mom who informed me that the word bitch, is simply what men say about women (and women say it too) when they think a woman is being too bossy (which for most men translates into being mean). Think about the double standards our culture imposes on women. For example, a man who sleeps around a lot is a virile manly hunk in stud. A woman who does the same is a dirty shameful whorish slut. Doesn't seem fair does it?
The word bitch has become so associated with negative views that I doubt it will ever truly be viewed by the public at large as something to admire, but when it comes to women, all I have to say, is that if you've gone your entire life and no one has ever called you a bitch, you're probably doing something wrong.
Also, men who are assholes are called assholes. Women who are assholes aren't called that. They're named for a different part of their lower anatomy. They're called cunts. However, since there really is no way to put a positive spin on that word, I would not say it about Spitfire (essentially she is a cunt, but I would simply call her an asshole).

Men who are assholes are called dicks. Or douchebags (for whatever reason, women don't get that as much). Although "dick" certainly doesn't have all the unnecessary negative connotations of "cunt"--but on the same hand, it being the stronger insult also means that women don't get called it as often as men are called dicks. Sure, it isn't fair that
Bitch is nothing more than the gender flip of bastard. Not in literal definition, but in use--the problem isn't that the women are bossy (which is frankly bad in and of itself--assertiveness and bossiness are two different things. Good group dynamics don't need bossiness), it's that they're assholes about it that prompts the insult... but, due to pervasive sexism, people are just quicker to throw the insult out.
I *am* taking the word of the women in my life in this. My mother, and also my aunt (who's pretty active in feminism stuff--goes to rallies and all that. Reclaiming insults isn't nearly universally accepted in the women's rights movement), to be specific.

You make some good points. I would imagine douchebag is used more on men, because a douche is something that some women use (I've never heard of guys having any use for it), and in most guys minds, the worst thing to be compared to, is a woman.
I'm not arguing that there are bossy women who are asses, but I'd venture a guess to say that guys who take charge are referred to as bitches far less often (just a hunch). Although one could argue that being an effective boss, requires a certain level of bitchiness. Especially if you're a woman and people are less likely to take you seriously. Spend most of your time being kind and decent, but don't be afraid to put your foot down when things get out of hand.
I have mixed feelings about Spitfire. She's obviously a good boss, but she is a dick sometimes. Her determination to get a job done at the expense of others, makes her a "cutthroat bitch" which is at once, something to admire in a woman, and something to find annoying.
If you've ever seen House MD (season 4 to be specific) you'll know who Amber Veloskis ("Cutthroat Bitch") is, and you'll understand why I think the two (Amber and Spitfire) are similar. Of course, one could argue that Spitfire seems slightly similar to House as well (ruthless and dedicated, but not above being a total jerk-bag).
Course, I love Spitfire compared to Cadence. Don't get me wrong, she's a good pony. She's just a bad character. Any time you have a character whose sole purpose for even existing at all, is to sell toys, that's a bad character. And yeah I know the whole show is made to sell toys, but at least they do their best (usually) not to make it so painfully obvious. How much imaginary cash you wanna bet they don't show Cadence with a swollen belly even once? Gotta remind girls to value their thinness now don't we? Although for some reason that I can't explain, I sort of liked Dean Cadence from Friendship Games. Don't know why.

Rainbow Falls could have been better. I thought it was entertaining here and there with Bulk Biceps and Derpy but overall it could have been better. (But that just my opinion).

She was kinda a bitch wasn't she? Tho it felt sort of forced or rather out of character for her to do that... Even tho she's had too little screen time through the duration of the show to define any sort of particular character traits to begin with. I dunno. Anyway, as the episode goes, it was cute to see Soarin turn into such a martyr! Loved that ^^ Oh, and Derpy back! That was a thing that happened.

I thought it was a good great episode too. Every character has had a bad day and Spitfire is no exception. Luckily, she gets what comes to her in the end and does get redeemed.

Cool picture XD I think you described Rainbow Falls extremely accurately. The episode was ok, but yeah it did have some pretty distinctive flaws.
Personally I don't blame Spitfire for her meanness, she was really out of character, I blame the lazy writing. I actually like the Wonderbolts and the writers resorted to portraying them as the villains. Being from a military environment, I thought they would act a lot more mature and have more respect when preparing for something as big as the Equestria games. I don't see why they couldn't have made a rival team to compete with Dash, if you ask me, that would have been a good opportunity to bring back Lightning Dust or Gilda.
I couldn't take Rainbow Dash too seriously in Rainbow Falls, I mean she got Fluttershy on the team who obviously has stage fright, and Bulk Biceps who could barely fly but returned anyway for the sake of fanservice. Choosing talented athletes doesn't make you a heartless bully, Rainbow Dash, it ensures that your country is able to compete.

I remember the old days when Spitfire was an enigma just like the rest of the Wonderbolts, drill sergeant of not she messed up big time in the academy, the ending was so fast that it felt quite empty, she was like:
FUCK, RAINBOW IS RIGHT, IF DO NOT DO SOMETHING BEFORE THE EPISODE ENDS THEN IT IS ALL OVER FOR ME.
I started to feel bad for Lightning Dust since her behavior was supported just to please this bitch.
Let us hope something changes in the episode of this weekend, hopefully Spitfire will not screw things up again.
