Can you gues which dragon ball story this refers to? pretty much all of them!Maybe Iβve been playing too much Dragonball Budokai Tenkaichi 3 lately.
Cucumba I just made up...I think it's a pretty dragonball-ish name though

Yeah... you've been playing Wayyyy too much DBZ Tenkaichi 3. xD Tenkaichi 3 is no where near the way DBZ plays out. In fact the only villian Goku ever actually BEATS as is kills is Kid Buu. Sure he fought Frieza , Cell kicked his ass , and Buu did too up until Vegeta started to think. He had to use a friggen Sprit bomb made by practically EVERYONE they knew including the entire planet earth. xD But yes.. The lessorz held off both Vegeta and Frieza..and the Ginyu force.

Oh yeah, him to. I do admit thought that the many transformation are getting kinda rediculuos. Old Kai said in one of the episodes "H-He's reached the final form of Super Saiyan" or something like that, but it meant that there would be no more Super Saiyan forms, unless that want to lose a SERIOUS amount of fans.

Canβt agree. I saw the βdelayβ and βnew power level = victoryβ just in the Namek ark. Also the main villain never becomes good after defeat.

Other than Piccolo Jr. (and even him gets room for discussion) none of them were main villains trough the series.
No Pilaf, the Red Ribbon, Piccolo Sr, Freezer, Cell or Boo became good after defeat.

whether or not they are 'main' villains, they are all villains who became good. All yes, Buu does become good as well, as Uub.

So yes, in every saga, form the fuuull cast of rivals there are one (or two counting Chaos) that became good. I saw that on almost any anime or cartoon.
Also considering Boo is a shape changing pink mass of rage who barely thing other than βkill and destroyβ and Oob is a little child who is afraid of fighting in public I would barely say they are the same character, reincarnation or not.
I would trace the structure of DB as something like: Goku somehow makes the Earth to be in danger. But said danger is not that hard, they beat it relatively easy. But the actions of the team and that lesser evil together makes a harder evil to appear. Everyone gets beaten by this harder evil. Something changes and the evil is beatable again (Goku with Freezer, Gohan with Cell and Boo becoming weaker (and meaner).
