For example, GokuChichi skipped the kissing and went to the wedding, whereas VegetaBulma skipped to having a kid already.
That's beside me having a strong feeling that Kishi will definitely make it a next-gen rivalry between a blond-haired Byakugan user and a pink-haired Sharingan user.

But this generation of anime is a little bit more realistic for people's personalities, than classic 90's anime.

Actually, there are several things that need to happen before the kissing. Naruto needed to learn as much as he can about Hinata. Right now, Naruto doesn't have a strong rapport with her. If their relationship is going to last, this needs to happen.

Your right. Hinata needs to hangout with Naruto all non-chalet and casually, for feelings to stir inside Naruto.
If Hinata becomes Naruto's confidant on a regular basis that would definitely do it for NaruHina to become cannon in a natural way.
I'm just expecting the kissing moment to be loud and sudden. As you would expect from the quiet types, (cough) Hinata.
