Description
Ok! I attempted to draw Katara, Aang's Waterbending teacher and good friend. I used markers on this one and attempted using some photoshop to highlight it a bit...Don't know what I think of it at this point. Feedback is appreciated.I don't own any of the characters from Avatar: TLA, but I sure love to draw them!

Yeah...I love Legend of Zelda....but the characters are tough to draw, I find. It's kind of a love/hate feeling toward Link.

I bet they are. I've never tried to draw any characters from any video game.

It Link's stupid hair that drives me nuts...and I suppose that because he's one of my favorite characters, I'm never quite satisfied with the way he looks.

Hmm, well try and get it as close as possible. You may not be able to get it exactly how you want it. I've had problems with that for my 3d models but I just get it pretty darn close and then call it done.

True....I find myself trying so hard to get a picture to look the way I want that I erase it to the point that I can't draw on the page anymore.

I've done that a lot before. Sometimes I'd erase too much and end up ripping a hole in the page.

Or, worse, I get done using the black pen (so the pencil doesn't smudge when I color), then when I start to erase the pencil marks, the black pen smudges EVERYWHERE. Grr...ruined so many good pictures that way.

Yeah that is a problem. I've never done black ink over pencil lines before. I'd just draw something so that it looked good with pencil. All my earlier work on here is done in pencil you could check them out if you wish.

I believe I will. You know I used to only draw in pencil, then use colored pencils...but the lead I used smudged...maybe I need to use a finer point/harder lead or something.

Maybe, softer leads usually smear. I remember that from my art class in seventh grade. We had to use soft leads for some project dealing with drawing leaves.

WHOA! This is awesome! You did a really great job with teh markers! And nice photoshoping because since you don't have a mouse for your laptop, I'm sure it took awhile. Nice work!

Aww...thanks so much, Switch! *hugs*
It did take a while, but the photoshop isn't what took forever, it was the markers. But...I'm starting to like using markers more than colored pencils. I should save up and get some really nice ones.
Thanks so much for the warm fuzzy comment, mein freund!

The first thing that jumped out at me was the style. I can tell its Katara, but it has a new look to it. Her hair looks great, and the colors turned out fine.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad. I like working with markers...they seem a bit smoother than colored pencils, but I still have a lot of brushing up to do...so the color doesn't overlap so much.
Thanks for the comment!
