What if you want to actually SAVE something as an icon... rather than create a folder shape, but actually make an icon? As in, save it, so you can change the icon for My COmputer to whatever you made... can one even do that at all?

Of course, but not with photoshop. There are a lot of programs that can convert PNG files to ICO files with no prob at all. You can save a PNG in photoshop and choose any of the 2311 apps that makes ICO files.

thanks for the comment, well you can't save as .ico from photoshop, but you could try to google "png to ico" and just save your creation as .png, then let the other software to do the rest. there is alot of apps that does that, and 90% of them are free

yup, I downloaded you tutorials a few days back, and just today I'm trying it.
I'm having some problems you your instructions. First I also had problemas adding points outside the main shape (with the add anchor point - which was the tool you were using - you can't add points outside the shape), but I got around that.
But then, when you added the perspetive to it, I had no idea what you did, you just cliked and the shape transformed as you clicked. I have no idea how you did that.
Plus, you didn't explain how you changed the perspective of the duplicated layer to look reflected.
Then I give you. Too many things I couldn't do.

Can you help me?

thanks.

I can't add anchor points outside the main shape. I have Photoshop CS.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mauricioestrella In reply to doffy90 [2007-03-12 00:56:08 +0000 UTC]

U cant add outside. U can add along the main shape only. If u want to create shapes use the normal pen tool.
