Description
Well we'd all be ****** without it!Just downstream from Wairere Falls. This stream babbles over the remnants of more ancient cliffs that it's long since reduced to pebbles.

It's a bit cliche but still, it was a beautiful spot and I had to travel thousands of miles to get there so I'd better make the most of it! thanks for your support dude

yea it came out miles better than I expected - the levels where a bit fooked on the original but after adding a little contrast it really gave it some life.
Thanks for looking

The slow shutter speed makes this a beautiful shot, the water looks like some sort of magical silk. The angle is nice too and the overall composition is beautiful.

No critique for this piece! I enjoy the composition that you've chosen, that long vertical pan works well with the position of the water and the path it follows between the rocks. The area is nice and lush and you've done a fantastic job of capturing the richness of it!
I do have a suggestion though - if you still have the G5 you might be interested in picking up an ND filter for it - it'll cut the amount of light, allowing for longer exposures - and it'll also give you more detail in the highlights without losing detail to shadows

Didn't realise I'd not added you to my watchlist ... having a look at your gallery I can't understand for the life of me why! Well now that's sorted
I have been picking through your comments and ... allready decided to invest in a bunch of ND filters for my new camera! I'm learning a lot from your photographs - thank you very much.
Why don't digital cameras allow really low ISOs? I'm sure it'd be REALLY useful for long exposures which is what I'd really like to experoment with now my G5 actually has an internal NG filter buillt in - what a good idea!
I got a new camera while travelling through Singapore (nightmare story!) Only problem at the moment is the bloody UV filter I bought with camera, after 6 months travelling, is stuck to the lens! I can't for the life of me get enough grip on the end of the lens to get it off. will it break something if I just grip the main part of the lens and twist? Any ideas?!

Those ND filters will come in very handy - definitely something that you find yourself using over and over again
As for low ISOs? I've always wondered that myself - it would be nice to go down to 64 or even 25 on some occasions. I know the new 5D goes down to 50 - so maybe this is the start of something new?
And as for that UV filter - you might just want to leave it where it is - I've had that problem in the past and ended up having to live with it - it would have been too risky to start putting pressure on the lens!

fabulous capture. The colours are incredibly bright and crisp. I love how you can follow the water's path through the shot towards the foreground. Very impressive stuff here

Yea, I like long exposures and this gave me the perfect opportunity to try a classic shot.
I think it worked out well ... just got to think up an original twist now!
Perhaps it could use a few flowers to brighten things up a little ...
