Some hand studies I did for week 10 of Daarken's Mentorship last year. I wanted to paint a variety of hands so rather than just use my own hand in different poses and lighting conditions I used photo references. An important lesson I learnt from this exercise was about simplifying things when painting, especially when painting from photo reference. The bottom right hand is an exception to this as the many creases show how tense the hand is. However, I should do more life studies as the eye sees differently to the lens.References
