Yes they are . However , Maremma's are usually specifically bred for protecting the herd. Stella protects the wombats. THEY , are her herd.

Oh Yes , although she is meant to be an outside breed. Usually they are bred to protect the herd. Stella's " herd ", is the wombats. Β She will not touch a wombat. Inside and out.
