Unfortunately the photos don't represent the true size of her backside. Veg you could say , has a medium sized rear end. They come in bigger sizes for sure. Wombies dont take to lightly having the back sides measured. But i will try. Β

Perfect proportions by the look of it. Now you know what the backside of a wombat looks like! Actually what you see there feels like a plate of bone. Its extremely hard but in fact its a solid plate of skin. Up to 1.5cm thick in fact.
The purpose of this plate is for defence. It is used to crush a predators skull up against the top of the burrow if say a wild dog or a fox tries to attack it from behind.
In a split second they can force their backside up doing great damage to anything between their bum and the burrow. I learnt my lesson the hard way and i only did it once, i tried to shoo one of our wombies out of a pipe and up came the backside and holy hell did i know it. Lesson learnt indeed. Β Β

wow that is so amazing what you told me ans scarey to think that you can find a suprise you were not expecting.Wow to think they Β are bukit this way to protect themselves.I think all animals should be built that way too
