So a couple people mentioned putting up a wireframe render of the porta-hut model I'm working on so here it is. Again, please give comments on this one. It's mostly quads though there are some tris I forgot to clean up on the ends of cylinders but that's not hard to fix. I've finished unwrapping the UV's for it so it's going into photoshop now to start getting textured.

So wow, that is really awesome. Very busy. I hope you had lots of fun unwrapping that sucker. I would be very angry at it lol.

Also, how many tris is this?? I'm very curious to know lol So is this something that you want to put in a game, or are you just trying to get this as nice looking as possible? Cuz from what I see, there is a lot you can do to make it even more low poly.

Yeah, I'm actually gonna start fixing parts of the model tonight. I left a lot of problematic areas so I'm gonna go hack some stuff up. I mostly want to do a good texture job on it for my portfolio. Beyond that, no real use that I know of.

Ah, okay, cool. Well, this is a really good model! I hope you have fun texturing this as well.

And you never did answer me in how many tris this is...lol

Lookin' really nice dude. The two things that I see would require re modeling s few parts. >_< Don't know if that would be a problem. The boxes on the back look really out of place. Not sure how poly you were going with this but those hard edges might look a bit out of place with everything else. Second thing is, that pipe coming out of the side looks strange without some kind of coupling ring around it. It just kinda sticks out of the house.
Other then that, I loove the rest of it. The gears are awesome! Nice job dude.

Yeah, I need to do some tweaking but it's ok. I ran into a snag when I unwrapped it so I'm going to approach it a different way. The crates will look ok with some texture I think but the back side of this thing wasn't really a focus of mine since I had to imagine most of it to begin with. I'll probably redo that pipe as well, I see what you're saying. I originally also thought to sort of hide that in shadow so it wasn't terribly obvious but I think I'll just fix it now since I'm changing things.

Thanks for the comment! Hows the term going?

Hectic but fun. Doing a modeling class and an independent study where we are modeling is interesting. It's fun, you?

Advanced Advanced 3D Modeling and Advanced Rigging, light load for me but the classes are intense.

Yeah, is that all you're taking? I can see how that would be a bitch. I'm looking forward to taking the advanced modeling class sometime..

Yeah, I signed up for 3 classes originally but one got canceled. I'm glad though, the work load is just enough. It's sad Jason Baldwin is leaving, Aaron Sturgeon is gonna be teaching the Advanced 3D class now and I think the Advanced Advanced 3D class goes bye bye.
