Description
(full view, please)Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers
Baltimore Soundstage
Baltimore, Maryland
December 5, 2014
This was my first time shooting with a Leica X1, and I was very happy with it. . .
Some of you may remember that this was the band that I saw in New Orleans last month.Β When they told me that the were coming to Baltimore, I made a point to go see them again.Β It was definitely worth seeing them again!

Thanks so much.Β I like this music hall.Β It has an interesting decor that you really can't see very well from these photos.Β The reason I had suggested "full-view" is that one of my favorite elements of the image would be the chandeliers at the far end of the room.

i have noticed them. they make the place look like an old dance hall.
we have one from the turn of the century in berlin whose owners have kept most of the old decorations.
a very special flair in there ...

Thanks so much, Ans!Β That really means a lot to me!Β This was one of those occasions where I had a better time because I went by myself.Β That way I could move around without having to worry about what anyone else was doing.Β Also, it was interesting to see this band again - this time in a more structured concert setting.Β I got to talk to Kermit briefly before the show.Β I didn't expect him to remember me from a month earlier, but I could tell when he saw me that he recognized my face.Β It was also interesting shooting Flow Tribe, his opening act. You saw some of those images before. . .Β I've been in touch with them, and they want to use some of my images! Β But yes, the sound was amazing!
Oh, and this is actually my favorite image of this series.Β It's partly because part of the audience is in the shot, and partly because I took this with the 2nd camera that I took with me - a Leica X1 that I had just bought used.Β I was very pleased with what this compact camera could do in such low light.
Thanks again, dear!

P. S.Β Thanks so much for all the s!

You're very welcome Richard. Sometimes it's not so bad doing things alone...it's freeing...
So cool that Kermit recognized you again and you had the possibility to talk with him.
Of course I remember your shots from "Flow Tribe" and to tell you the truth, I'm not very surprised that they want to use your images...they are great!
Seeing the audience gives a bonus and congrats on your camera!! I hope to see more of these kind of captures from you!
No need to thank me, Richard. Thank YOU for sharing.

I hope that I'll soon have more cool images with that camera too!
But I never really did finish posting the Americana Crap images from Arizona! Β So I think I'll go back to posting more of those images next!

Your Arizona series aren't crap Richard. It would be comparing apples with pears.
But I have to admit that I'm really looking forward to more images like these ones!!
So, keep up the good work my friend...

Hahahaha!
No dear, I wasn't calling the pictures "crap."Β I was calling the Americana stuff that I was shooting "crap."Β I mean the abandoned stuff that I photographed is so crappy that it's kinda cool! Β I have loads of abandoned motels, but also a lot of neon.Β I love neon!
But thanks Ans, for being so supportive!

OMG, Richard, this is really the Babylonian confusion!!!
That's the problem if the language isn't your mother tongue.
Thanks for the kind explanation...this is a kind of embarrassing....
Any way...we had a good laugh and I'm sure it will happen again some time!
