Yeah I'm a total sucker for cartoony and original stuff where's imagination just flies. That's the thing for me. So yeees, definitely more grilled cheese sandwitches in the future
And yep, I'm definitely posting some new stuff after a short while. There'll be one big piece with that unfinished Ford F-100 I have in my gallery in it's final state plus some dude who owns it and ome grassy background. - - - Just gotta find some energy to pull it through.

Cheers,
mj

I can only dream and wish for this ability... I truely do envy you.. but in a respectful way because I know you worked hard to learn how to be that good. My problem is I can't focus on a particular style

I really appreciate what you just said.
My first touch with 3D is not quite a long time ago. So the learning can be done pretty fast if one really wants it.
I made a couple of tests with LigthWave 3D in 2005 summer, the first models were complete messes. Then I didn't do any 3D for a while. But because of the school, my first real dive into 3ds Max started 2005 christmas. Then I really begun to enjoy 3D.

I really like the artistic, almost painted look you've given the textures. And the lighting is dead-on, very stylistic!

Lol, thanks. The textures are almost fully painted, so that's why it may look like that

Looks great. I love your textures! What school are you attending? I'm starting at Animation Mentor on April 3rd. And depending on where that takes me, I might try and go to another school for 3D modeling, so that I would have a good ability in both

Lemme know what school you are attending.. perhaps I have heard of it

I'm attending EVTEK institute of art and design in Finland and studying for 3D-visualization programme.
That animation mentor is just awesome. I envy everyone who have the opportunity to go there Have you seen Massimo Russo's log on his journey in AM? [link]

Cheers.

JoKeR0720 In reply to maxon [2006-03-29 18:43:43 +0000 UTC]

Actually that is the first time I saw his blog. He seems to be really really enjoying his AM experience. I can't wait to start. I've heard so many great things. You shouldn't envy people there though. We don't learn anything about modeling... just animating. So, the schools are pretty different I've taught myself everything I know so far, and I'm not doing so well I really hope that Animation Mentor helps me jump into the world of animation, movies, and video games.

Good Luck with your schooling, you seem to being quite well

I had hard time choosing the print aspect ratio... didn't want to crop anything off, but also those black borders make it look silly. I hope those somebodys who order it will just simply cut it out

vozzz In reply to maxon [2006-03-29 00:33:55 +0000 UTC]

do you mean like 3d in school. Or a school (college, uni) that teaches 3d?

I don't know i'm struggling with the decision to do what i want for work. Then i can model and create stuff, and get paid for it. Or i can work somwhere where it's got nothing to do with modelling or art, but pays alot allowing me to do whatever i want when i want.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maxon In reply to vozzz [2006-03-29 05:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, this is kinda college that teaches 3d

That sure is always a dilemma what to do. But I don't think 3D-modellers make a small buck... at least not the smallest. Plus also there's the fact that when you're enjoying the job you're doing, the days just flies by. You get disturbed by some lunch brakes and stuff because you're so committed to your work I would say that's some easy money

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vozzz In reply to maxon [2006-03-29 06:49:09 +0000 UTC]

yeah i just got a hefty sum, well for me anyway, for some modelling that i did. It was fun, but somehow i think i would get bored of it if i had to do it all day. And also a problem is that here in australia it's a bit like living in the stone age. Since the economy is alot smaller, there is a lot less competion and there for advertising isn't as big, and hence 3d modellers arn't that sought after. You should see some of these adds, the graphics for them are like made in paint. kinda like this one [link] , and they have it on this purple background with this really cheap home made add.

Anyway, we'll see. Easy money is always good.
