Description

This is the 400th drawing in my main gallery.

Well, sort of. A couple of drawings were since removed from it and put into scraps, so I guess it’s technically the 402th.

All the previous times, when I had reached the products of 100, I marked it with fancy pictures of C’Ran – the protagonist of the first literary work I uploaded on this account. But here, I decided to break this old trend and instead upload something more… sublime! So lo and behold the long-withheld reveal of Copator Cikronis – the leader of the Founders, the prime architect of Genesis and the creator of the Assembly itself. And by extension, the reveal of the "founder-kind" in general.

For the long time, I was hesitant about actually depicting the Founders in my art, fearing that it would break the mystique surrounding them - but all things hidden cannot stay hidden forever, and so eventually, I made a decision to settle on the definitive design. My main concern about them was the balance, for the Founders are incredibly dual beings. On the one hand, I wished for design to convey their importance as the literal creators of the setting, taking some exalted, angelic, almost divine qualities in the process. But on the other hand, one of the main themes concerning them is the fact that despite their role in genesis, they were explicitly not gods, and their creations treating them as such was the source of many, many problems. I hope that eventual design hits the golden middleground between sublime and grounded, conveying Founders as what they are – majestic and powerful, yet still still fallible beings.

In-universe, it's hard to tell if this appearance was fully natural, or at least somewhat artificial – since Founders were already quite technologically advanced before creating the Assembly, it is very much possible that they could have modified themselves to some extent.

Their wings, seemingly too small for a powered flight, might be used for gliding, or perhaps indicated their origin from a planet with relatively low quality. Their hight was somewhere in between 3 and 4 meters, their blood was light blue, and they – like many of their creations – were simultaneous hermaphrodites with no concept of gender.

Though incredibly long-lived, they were not biologically immortal when they started to create the Assembly, and only imbued themselves with agelessness at some point afterwards.

The exact number of Founders involved in the creation of Assembly is pretty vague, but it was certainly less than a hundred.
