Description

Just for funsies, I've included the line art this time (I fixed the lips for the line art). Feel free to use it for your own 3 marker challenges, or just to colour it in general. No need to ask permission, but I do ask that you credit me for the lines and link back to either my page here or on Facebook if you post it. (And send it to me! I want to see it! ) (I imagine it will be easier to colour traditionally than digitally because I'm garbage at cleaning up line art in Photoshop, but you use whatever medium makes you happy.)

Another 3 Marker Challenge, this time with Mallow, Frost Blue, and Maroon.

"You've been doing a lot of those?"

It actually challenges me without being boring, unlike a lot of the things I need to be doing to improve. I'll take it.

This one...isn't my favourite. I like the line art, but I think if the purple I'd used has been a shade or two lighter it would have been more to my liking. As it stands now, the tones are too close for the purple and the brown, so a lot of the features (such as the lips and hair coils) disappear quite significantly.

I've been feeling less and less confident in my ability to map faces in the past couple weeks (this one was after countless redraws and I only realized after inking it that the lips are still too far forward). I've also been in the mood to draw wavy hair. Maybe I'll manage to get some pages of face practice sketches in if I stick some curly hair on their heads. We'll see.

*ignores the fact that her hand is very clearly sitting on a different plane than her tail*

I'm starting to get the hang of how blending on this paper works (took me long enough; we're 80 sheets in). Part of me is trying to suggest that means we can buy it in the future, but I have my sights set on higher things...*drools at Rendr sketchbooks on Amazon*

I'll try to behave for a little while and stop bombarding you all with silly art challenges. Maybe get some real work done. We'll see.
