this is, embarrassingly enough, inspired by "gossip girl", the tv series, the masked ball they have there. also, of course, by aubrey beardsley, the master of black and white.
the question is how to analyze it; am I the person on top and someone else in the cage, or am I both? the important thing is to keep it hidden.
