This picture is really good at expressing a sort of hostage feel, sort of a torture chamber. You look quite starved Mr. Scrawny. At first the pic looked so serious, then I noticed you were looking at the other you's crotch.

I didn't mean it offensively-My friends have done hundreds of this shoot type, but the conversation you had below the pic was outright hilarious and original. The blur is incredibly false-there is a separate blur function for that and the blur tool doesn't do an adequate job.
The job of a picture is to get the viewers to emote-the comments were much funnier than the seriousness of the pic. Funny trumps depression/fear every time.
I hadn't meant to offend you, you just know some weird people.
Plus it was 1-something am where I lived at the time.

I was up really late, and was on my thirteenth critique when I switched back to my other thread. I looked at the picture and was originally going to say stuff about the mood, the blur tool, the planks guiding the eye and how you remind me of that kid from "holes".
Then I scanned the comments to see if anything was going to be repeated...
Then I read all that wondrous commentary. ^_^ That woke me up, it even made me spit out my cereal (on my dog). ^_^ That's why I liked the comments so much. ^_^

Maybe with a tighter aperture and better lighting, the blur would have come more naturally? And then you could adjust the lighting to a darker tone in photoshop instead?

I could try fiddling with the aperture and ISO untill I get the desired result. As for the lighting, that was pretty much the best lighting I could get without changing the location (unless i had a studio light thing, or used the flash).
