Lunar Sonata, the Equestria-renowned opera singer, is known for her social appearances, charity work, and of course her amazing singing voice. Hardly anyone knows what she does with her free time, and she prefers it that way. From early childhood, all she ever wanted to do was to be free to sing her way, which of course wasn't opera, but fear of disappointing her wealthy and famous family lead her to stay in her private school for musicians.During the hardships of her early school years, Lunar Sonata became fascinated with how beautiful the night was. It was wide, open, and bright with the stars. Soon, she began to sneak out at night, and sing. She sang the way she wanted to, even in opera style. She sang this way because in the night, in freedom, she had the choice to. She soon earned her cutie mark this way, a night blooming cereus with musical notes. Her parents and the school were thrilled, but Lunar Sonata kept the real reason she obtained it a secret. Later in life, she obtained something else that made her very special, but that is a story for another day.
