What don't you get?

I get lost in the beginning with the putting it together part. I have been looking at tuts all over DA and none were made for idiots like me.

In what, specifically?

I just discovered the ctrl+alt+enter key sequence to use the colouring algorithm. Oh how I wish I could find a step-by step tutorial like the ones I make for theming [link]

I can't seem to find and use the formulas and when I do use them they look nothing like your tutorial. I wish I could find some good step by step tutorials for dumb people like me. i have been learning this intensely for 2 days and I can't even get the formulas on the outside window. all your tuts have that icon showing. I don't. If I access it from the top menu I don't get all the formulas at all. I am so lost.

I want so badly to make a flowery fractal but I updated my public formulas today and there is no mch.ucm or Continued fractions do you know of any other way to creat flowers in ultra fractal?

Are you sure? It should be there...

The official UF site has a link to a site that has all of the formulas created. DOn't know the name of the site however, so you would have to look. Sorry.

Im totally lost here. Iv tried all trap and flavor model combo's, and didnt get anything closer to your flower trap shapes(so im curious, where all the funxtions left alone and you simply used the base values of thingamajigs and just change transferfuction/trapmode and flavor?). I am also perplexed to what you mean by convergance factor to a high number. Closest I could find was Convergance Value which starts at 1E-3, and putting a 10 or higher number nothing much comes out.(i can do 1e-(varible#)). Sorry for being a pain, im just totally burned on Julia and mandolbrot sets and want to explore some other formula's. Normally I resort to using orbit traps(pinch trap shape) to get my petals shapes, so im way excited to know how to make a different form of petal shape.

that is the problem I had at first TSHansen.. I couldn't find the grouping of shapes he had zoomed up on... If you load Continued Fractions V2 with the thingamajigs coloring method, you will see the grand overview of the fractal... it is symmetrical and in each of the coners (between the outer edge and the center of the image) you will see a thinner arc with a bulge in the center. In the center of this arc is the area you are looking for... you will see there are a small grouping of shapes (the base thingamajig shape)

Concentrate your view here and play with the coloring method after that.. you will eventually find flower shapes... just takes a bit of patience...

Thanks again MeddlerInc...

OK so I'm pushing it! But this really really does help. Didn't use a simple fractal, more of a design. But I'm proud of it and couldn't have done this without your tutorial. [link]

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for the tutorial! I've been looking for information on how to make what I call Simple Elegance Fractals. This really should get me started and the texture layer info is going to help a lot too. *running off to start UF*

thanks for putting this up!! I am fairly experienced at all of this and (as you can see from my gallery) do not have any flower fractals other than lafontaine... This will give me a great starting point to work from for this type of fractal.

quick, concise and to the point... perfect.

lol.. i tried to get continued fractils and thingamajigs to look like flowers but can't do it.... I have trouble getting the initial flower shape.
