Description
Obviously, this is a rendition of a moment from Episode 19 of Death Note. After watching the anime and reading the manga, I've become quite the fan of the franchise and adore Matsuda. I decided to do some art for it and painstakingly sat down with about half a dozen successive screen shots to try and draw the picture you see here.

This is actually the first anime art I've done in years and it was a bit awkward in the beginning to sit down and draw in a style I'd been consciously trying to move away from. But once I got going, I felt right at home.

I didn't deviate from the original composition of pictures from the episode because I wanted to see which characters I had a better hand on first. It also allowed me to play around with brushes and colouring techniques in Photoshop since I'm rather new to the digital medium.

I hate creating backgrounds and didn't do too good of a job blending it into the foreground, but I like the way several of the characters turned out (particularly L and Matsuda).
