Hasbro are defiantly teasing the soarin dash fans in this episode. Β

I may or may not have seen Dash in an episode preview playing a male character.

Me: Oh look, the tomboy playing a male character. Way to confuse little kids who don't understand the concept of playing different genders! Throw Soarin' in there if you have to, because I can feel the cross dressing complaints already.

Little kids DO understand the concept of characters playing different genders, though. I have cousins who are like, five, and they can understand that boys and girls can dress however they want, and that clothes don't really matter. The problem is that parents assume that their kids are stupid, and then freak out over their kids being "exposed" to the tiniest things, such as characters dressing differently. This is where that whole "but we can't put this in the media, because how will we explain it to our children???!!" argument comes from. Meanwhile, the kids had already figured these things out for themselves a long time ago.

Kids are a lot smarter than people think they are, but because there are content-nazi parents who want to treat everyone under the age of fifteen like idiots, we're forced to have nothing but super one-dimensional plotlines that will only ever show gender stereotypes (ie: "ALL girls love dresses and makeup even if say they don't, and if a boy doesn't like sports, then he's a girly freak!!") instead of being able to make shows where the characters can have their own independent personalities, hobbies, etc.

Like, little kids watch Mulan all the time, and it has no negative impact on them. Why is it so insane if the same plotline goes down in a cartoon instead of a movie? Even if your kid wants to dress differently after watching it, why is that such a big deal? They're just clothes.

Exactly. Also people who think that when a boy if friends with a girl they're dating can just leave. I have 3 male friends, so how can I be dating them? Β Also people don't understand that asexuals exist and they're not just going through some faze. Turns out that they used female pronouns for both Starlight and Dash ( They were representing a character of a story) even though they're dressed in a rather masuline way. Finally Hasbro is starting to get that people can dress the way they want.

Honestly though that's a reason why I love RWBY. It does whatever feels good for the plot, and Juane in a dress is hilarious.
