I'm back with another piece! This one is kind of creepy compared to the last two, but I think it's still pretty strong. Basically the concept behind it is that technology (represented here by mechanical flies) is taking over more natural and beautiful things (represented here by the body). It's still open to interpretation though, so you can read into it however you would like.
I spent a lot of time trying to get things anatomically correct, and I'm pretty proud of the outcome. 
Done with black conte on 22x30 Rives BFK (which is WAY bigger than I'm used to) in about 25-30 hours. Somewhere in there.
EDIT: Went back and added more flies in the top right corner.

This is such a beautiful illustration and concept! *o*
I love the clockwork flies buzzing around inside the person's head and insides - so wonderfully grotesque!
While it is a little too creepy to sit right with me (I hate bugs!), the human's beautifully melancholy expression contrasted with the emotionless, identical robot insects makes for a beautiful and thought-provoking composition. c:

I like to think of it like a robot girl (or guy... o.o) where they attack using creepy mechanical bees, which also help take care of her internal mechanisms.

I don't think it looks like anime at all. Anatomy studies are good for you and this is very sound anatomically. I agree that technology can have a negative effect on life, but I don't think it's even an issue compared to sin.

That's really good. I can see stylistic similarities with anime, but there's a pretty firm grasp of anatomy as well. All the little cogs and goings on are nice.
