---but the silence between them was almost tangible, putrid, like sludge. Memphis' hands hung listlessly at his sides, unbudging. Cysiphen noted this, his watchful eyes narrowing over his shoulder.

A few seconds went past, then the vampire made his way over until he stood before the taller male, who continued to avert his blank gaze. He was in one of those distant moods again, wasn't he? Cysiphen thought to himself.

"Look, Memphis..." Cysiphen made sure to utter his name in a gentle tone, his voice soft and silvery. His gloved hands reached up and, with precise, careful moves, adjusted Memphis' tie which had been askew and loosened, "Let's just put last night behind us."

No response from the other. Cysiphen pressed onwards.

"I know I may have lost my composure, and for that, I do apologize." He smoothed down the red tie as he spoke, then reached around to pat Memphis' arm in a gesture that was almost reassuring. Any outsider looking on would noted it was odd he was apologizing in such a way, as if he was merely saying charming words to a child having a sulken pout. Alas, in the moment, it was just the two of them.

"But you, out of all people, should have known better than to disappoint me." This was said in the same casual, soft tone despite the weight of the words casting the blame onto Memphis. The gloved hand that had been patting now stayed on his arm with a light grip, thumb running back and forth in a circular motion. And not without reason, as each move of his move was calculated. He knew exactly where Memphis' tattoos lay.

"Forgive me?" Cysiphen raised his brows upwards, looking as remorseful as he could. All the while his eyes were taking in the pretty beaten up face before him. Black eye and bruises like extra touchings on a beautiful art canvas.

". . ."
And there it was, a slight flutter of the eyelashes out of rhythm of normal blinking patterns, the smallest exhale of a sigh from the blue haired humanoid.

A small smirk touched his pale lips; Cysiphen knew he won this round again.

[ Character ]
Cysiphen can be an abusive piece of shit, let that be clear. He's the guy who would throw you against a wall the night before, then offer to fix your tie all nicely the day after as if he's doing you a favor. He's the character I want you all to like because he's suave as hell, but also hate at the same time for the shitty things he does. This isn't even the worst thing Memphis has suffered, to be honest.

I had the sketch sitting in my folders for MONTHS, but here it finally is, polished and colored, just as we're a week into December, which is Memphis's birthday month! Which probably means you guys will see a bit more of him. There's some mistakes with this thing but oh god I am too sleepy to fix them now.
