Is an artificially created creature. 004 is the “eye and hands” of the Caretaker , her main goal is to carry out tasks and assignments, basically, wherever the Caretaker herself cannot reach.
So most of the time 004 spends in remote and abandoned parts of the building and examines them, fixes and generally does everything the Caretaker needs (often this also applies to places that have lost contact with the main center and need to be restored manually).
004 also has another function, no less important, when Jessica wakes up and the Caretaker goes crazy, 004 is the only one who can and knows how to stop her. The ink which Jessica uses to kills doesn’t work on 004, and her excellent reflexes, speed and abilities allow her to easily get close to the Caretaker and manually reset her. Jessica tried to get rid of 004 many times, but still did not find her weak points that could be used to neutralize her.
004 accepts her role as a researcher and subordinate for the Caretaker and suppressor Jessica with pride and is always ready for these purposes.
- She, like the Caretaker, has an “ink-portal gun”, but unlike the Caretaker, who creates one portal next to herself, and the second itself appears where it needs, 004 has to create both the portal by herself (since she doesn't have that much ink control).
- She is not afraid to fall from high altitudes or to be, for example, crushed - she has a special layer of fine metal mesh under her skin - if she is in danger, the mesh shrinks and forms a solid, durable metal layer. This, of course, temporarily prevents 004 from moving, but also prevents her from getting injured.
- She has very good reflexes. And due to the additional hand on the tail, excellent hearing and sensitive antennas, it is almost impossible to catch her by surprise.
- She has five antennas - one, the main one, on the ear, and four more on the face. This creates a better connection, and also “insures” it if one or several antennas are broken.
- The Caretaker can easily communicate with 004 using the built-in microphone and headset, but 004 almost never speaks. Only in very, very rare cases.
- Due to the fact that she, in contrast to the same Caretaker, is not connected to the pipes with ink all the time, she has her own “reserve” in a large tank in her body. After each task (or sometimes even during them) she needs to “refill” with ink. Even if she doesn't need to create portals, she feels weak and exhausted without ink.
