Description
Lucius lumbered his heavy body on the cold ground until he stumbled and eventually fell. He had a long battle fought and victory was his. However, his physique had strained to it's breaking point. At any minute, his form would deteriorate. The demon lifted his weary head and gazed upon Harkward.

It was silent. Not the sound of a man in the coral fields, nor a woman preparing dinner, neither a child at play. Everyone was reduced to ashes that covered the shaking, murderous hands of the demon who's blood continued to boil in hatred. He had done it. He'd killed them all with no remorse.

The devil turned his head to a safe space he had not touched in his wrath. The place where his wife, Laurel, lay dead. Her lifeless eyes pierced his soul with the most solemn gaze he could ever witness. And his daughter, sweet Fayre Sarai, who would never experience the wonder of life in his arms, and never get to say 'I love you', sat cold in her mother's womb, drained of embryonic fluids. Their blood stained the cloth and sand around Laurel, reminding him further that he was too late to save them. Lucius took a disheartened step towards them, shambling with the last of his might. He fell to his knees in front of her, as a piece of Virgil's body melted from his chest and onto the ground. Several more pieces of flesh deliquesce from his physical form, but he paid no mind. It was no use trying to save himself when he didn't deserve it. He slowly moved a tender hand to his wife's cheek, as if to wipe away her tears which had been dried to her face a short time ago. The demon lifted her onto his lap to hold her in an embrace. He stared at her. Staring with desolate eyes that grew fresh tears which fell onto her soft face, trailing down her cheek as he mourned in grief. He brought their foreheads together, just like he used to when they'd wake up every morning in each other's arms.

"The sun is peeking my dear... I will be holding you near... Stay here by my side, and don't you go and hide... from me..." Lucius choked as he sang to his family one last time. "The moonlight is now singing... and the soft bells are ringing... time to say good night, and it will be alright... you'll see..."

The devil flew them both far away, further from any fish kind's reach. He set them both onto the sand, as he stared at a field of yellow flowers. He growled at how joyful that color looked.

After he placed his wife in a grave he'd dug deep enough, he filled the hole. A part of his black heart ached with every scoop of gritty ground that was tossed onto her. He wept once again, becoming closer to finishing his work. He placed a Coral willow tree sapling on the top of their resting place to serve as a head stone. She always did love willows. After he covered the roots, he sat back down, glaring at the thick fur covering his thighs. He looked at his bony, black fists clenching the earth in revulsion for those damned villagers. And he shifted his tail in the water around him. Once again, the devil looked towards those grotesquely happy yellow flowers. How they were filled with unbothered bliss. It sickened him to his rotted core. How dare they be so unaware of the fate that lies before them. Lucius let out a demonic and earth shaking shrill, with such power, rearranged the fibers of color in the flowers, transforming them from a vibrant yellow to an angered red. The red, representing every gallon of blood spilt and drained from the only ones he loved.

Lucius rattled as he dropped to the floor, his consciousness fading from his grasp. His eyes glossed as he took one last breath in before he fell victim to death.

Was this it...? Has he finally died, and will be reunited with her soul?

Lucius awoke to tens of thousands of wails and screams. The screeching of the damned filling his ears, he already knew where he lay. Hell, the home he once had but abandoned to live amongst mortals. He distinguished distant clapping from the ear-ripping screams and sat up with his soul body. His father, Satan, sat upon his throne with his mortal mother cowering beside him. The young Devil approached his elder, stopping at his giant hooved feet. "HELLO, FATHER..." Lucius greeted, keeping eye contact without feigning. "MY SON..." The great Devil laughed, "I AM FILLED WITH PRIDE AT YOUR ACTIONS ON THE SURFACE! YOU DESTROYED THEM ALL WITH THE MOST RAGE I HAVEN'T SEEN SINCE THE TIME OF NOAH! DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU MY BOY?" He boomed, stepping down from his throne where he gestured to it for Lucius to sit. "YOU WILL BECOME MY RIGHT HAND! MY WEAPON OF DESTRUCTION TO FINALLY TAKE WHAT'S MINE AND ELIMINATE THOSE PETTY ANGELS IN HEAVEN, AND AFTER THAT, TEAR EVERY FEATHER FROM MY FATHER'S BACK ONE BY ONE FOR EVERY ONE OF HIS FORCES FALLEN TO OUR HANDS! AND SOON, I... SATAN RIPCURRENT, WITH THE STRENGTH I BESTOWED UPON YOU, MY SON, WILL BECOME THE RIGHTFUL GOD AND RULE THE MULTIVERSE!!" The devil screamed with as much terrible glee as he could muster. Lucius twitched at hearing this, and only slightly smirked.

"I FELT YOUR PRESENCE IN THE VILLAGE THAT NIGHT FATHER... WERE YOU JUST ITCHING TO GIVE THOSE MEN WHAT THEY DESIRED OR WERE YOU JUST UP FOR A LOVELY JAUNT IN THE WOODS...?" Lucius tilted his horned head, restocking his savagery once again. He knew he was the puppet master, stringing their hatred for his relationship into an uncontrollable and unfearing desire for their destruction. He knew those men were not able to hold him back like that before, so it must have been their mortality was switched off by the hand of his father. Clever, to say the least. But the bill comes due.

The great Devil shrugged, not bothering to deny what he knew to be true. "I MAY HAVE WHISPERED INTO THEIR EARS... BUT YOU ALREADY KNEW IT WAS COMING, LUCIUS. IF I HAD DONE NOTHING, YOU WERE GOING TO ERRADICATE YOURSELF BY STAYING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT MORTAL BITCH. HEH, IF YOU WANTED SEXUAL FAVORS YOU COULD HAVE CALLED UPON ONE OF MY CONCUBINES. YOU SHOULD BE ACHING TO GET YOUR HANDS ON THEM." He smirked while Lucius shook his head. "THE ONLY THING I... AM WANTING TO GET MY HANDS ON...." Lucius smiled, holding his head down, finally breaking eye contact, as he shuffled his hooves towards his father. His mother fell back in horror. She could feel the unbridled rage emenate from her spawn, and she quickly took cover from his presence. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" The Devil asked as he took a heavy step back as Lucius exploded into a horrible laughter, tackling his father to the grounds of Hell, where he began to tear his flesh from his body to reveal his muscle fibers and various guts that spilled onto the floor and splashed vigorously onto Lucius's fur. He cut into him and devoured whatever he had in his hands, licking his lips from the raw flavor of vanquishment while the Devil laid speechless and watched him in immense pain. The great Devil finally screamed in agony, still being able to feel his spawn feast on his insides, feeling him rip out his entrails and guzzle them down without hesitation. "FEEL THE PAIN YOU CAUSED ME AND DIE A CURSED LIFE YOU BASTARD!!!" Lucius screamed as he tore the devil's ribs through his chest to begin devouring his heart still within the carcass.

The new devil now lived a cursed life for killing the Morning Star, Satan, his father. Hell was unbalanced and without a ruler, and Lucius refused to sit in the throne of the Devil. So here he stayed, shambling the seas as a broken, undying man, and it pissed him off to no end. He would take his revenge on all of fish kind and show them what their kind did to him. He was the devil no longer.
