Description
This is my remake of a Marvel Comics "The Ultimates" cover by Bryan Hitch. The picture struck me as the ultimate picture of the Norse thunder god, Thor; so I made it again in ink and fineliner, changing the modern super-hero accessoires into more traditional gear.Again I used rather outdated software (picture publisher 8 or so) for colouring and the finishing touches.

Yes, Tyr/Tiwaz/Ziu... used to be the main Germanic sky god on the continent and was known to my folk as Saxnot - sword comrade - deity of the ancient Saxons and Anglo-Saxons.
I was born on his day, so an image is overdue...

if I can find any fault in this image its that the hammer seems to wash out a little bit, but this picture is EASILY a 9/10. Badass!!!

It's really, really rare for me to like a picture of the Marvel Thor, since I don't like it... but holy jeez, you did a fantastic job with this. The lighting is splendid and I love the lurking rage in his face. He really reminds me of the mythological Thor.

Thor is, by far, my favorite character. Why? I don't know. But anyhow, I adore this image and how you've altered it. Any chance you'd make a print of it? I'm moving soon and would love this for one of my walls.

This is a ridiculously amazing picture. It took me a while to find the original (I haven't read the Ultimates line) but I love what you've done. The hammer and shield, the new armor, I think it is a fantastic picture. Definitely one of my favorites all-time.
