I read so many signs that day I forgot half the animals. xD
Should have written the names of them down.

Had to darken the picture a bit because I tried getting rid of the reflection from the glass. ((dam most the exhibits being behind glass and little kids putting their grubby little hands all over the place. >.< ))
Plus I wanted to submit this because all the other cats were hiding away in the zoo or they didn't take good pictures. >.<
So I wanted at least one cat in my gallery. xD

excellent shot mate.
next time, if your camera lets you, just turn the flash off. we do that when we take pics through glass but then again, shots through glass are, in my experience, always hit and miss.
i love ocelots, they're so delicate.

Great photo of him/her. I had a young one that walked into my camp when I was in South America and decided he liked us. He was a little scary at first until we got used to him then he was a lot of fun.

Well same with me and dog breeds as I've worked in a few kennels And sometimes you get people in saying one type of dog is anouther breed and I try not to get to annoyed with them and just correct them when they say it. xD (( Lol though I do get annoyed when people call my boy a Greyhound when he's clearly a lurcher. xD ))

I used to want to work in a zoo so badly though I expect now I've really found my calling in kennels and environments like that. (( Would have loved to work with Lemurs I like Lemur Catta's the most though. xD ))

i work at an animal sanctuary... we have tons of big cats, small cats, monkeys, birds and such....
but its not hard to tell cats apart *g*

well they do, but some people decide that big cats would be so cool as a pet... yeah right.
thats why there are sanctuaries that take care of those misheld and mistreated animals.

Is it legal for people near where you live to actully have big cats as pets then?
I think here its against the law to, I know people ages ago before I was born did keep them as pets and when it because illegal they released them.
Its always good to have sanctuaries though. =] I'm hoping one day I can start my own up. xD Well its one of my far-fetched dreams but it would be nice if I could make it a reality. Though my one would mainly be fore dogs as I'm more experience with them. xD ((though if another breed of animal came in of corse I'd take it in if I had the facility's))

well you have to have a wildlife license in order to have any wild animal around here. but most people don't know that. so they just buy the little tiger, lion or whatever and realize when its big, that they can't take care of it....

They should put out more notices to inform people about not buying these types of animals.
But yea, people are so ignorant of the care of these types of animals, all they see is a cute little baby and they don't think about the sizes they grow to or the needs of the animal. Some of these dip shits really need to be shot. xD
I still think they should re introduce dog licences over here to make people think twice about just getting a dog and dumping it. hopefully then there wouldn't be so many dogs dumped, killed and hopefully it wont mean so many dogs getting their ears chopped off because they have had a tattoo but in it and the thief didn't want the dog to be tracked.

Yeah, let me tell you about Twister, one of the tigers I get to take care of at the sanctuary.
He was held in a Condo and was badly abused by his owner. He would not feed him right so he would not grow (duh doesn't work) and he hit him, because Twister riped his couch in half. Think about it. He is freaking 600lbs. You don't have that kind of cat in your CONDO!!!

Aw, Poor little baby. Lol, besides him not having that type of cat in his condo, he should not have any type of animal if he's going to hit them. I would have attacked the owner if I was poor little twister. =[

yeah... thats why i work at the sanctuary. i want to get my wildlife license so i can have foxes and wolves. but i would never take on a tiger or anything like that

yeah they are too used to humans. its impossible to release them. but its also really nice if you ask me. i mean our animals are amazing, had a bad life and now they are just so sweet and love humans.

Yea, in one way its nice to be around a animal like that, but yea its still a shame they had been taken out the wild ((or breed from an animal taken out the wild)) but lives sadly like that. =[
Lol, yea I understand so much how you feel about the pens. xD the one's I'm working in at the moment are not the best kennels in the world, but our council have been saying were getting a new site built but its taking them forever. >.< I've seen the grounds they are building on though and they are huge, I just wish people could work faster. >.<

well we have to pay and build everything just by admissions and donations. and we don't get very many of those.
during summer we have a lot of people coming but almost non during winter... so it really is hard to get by.
