The reason why they're hard is probably due to the fact that they aren't for first-time dog owners. Shiba inus require training at a early age to obey commands and listen to their owners correctly. Otherwise, they kinda think that their owners are like their servants, and basically does what it wishes to and ignores lots of their owners' commands.
So yeah it's a tough breed. I want one really badly, but I think I'll get it when I'm fine with taking care of a easy breed like a cockapoodle or a labrader retriever. :T

Yes, that's probably true ^^

My friend has one and they never had a dog before, so..

He really needs to learn some manners. I often have to correct the dog XD
My friend always is saying "you can't help it, it's just the breed, you can't teach them anything"

Yeah right ! He just can handle him

I heard they are very cat like they are independent, just like cats. I am planning to get a shiba maybe soon, and i spending a lot of time studying about how to train them. I am also going to volunteer at the animal shelter to really get used to dog behaviour.
