Hmm... not entirely true.Β Sometimes you must be careful with what you apply to a character, as the presence or lack thereof of any physical abnormality can shift the way people view a character.Β Wings typically have a sort of power to them (especially if they're larger) so people often love them, but there's also points where they simply don't belong.
I try to be careful with what abnormalities I apply to my characters.Β The wings felt like a necessity, simply because Starflare is supposed to be a mix of several things (science!)Β Originally, I had considered making him a quadruped with the tentacles being placed on his back, but it seemed too 'bulky' and focused too much mass in his center.Β I ended up going with octopus seapony with dragon wings because it distributed the mass fairly evenly.
Eh... but I'm rambling. ^_^;

Flare, you realise that. Twilight could ask princess Celestia to pardon you, and she would do it. She trusts twilight completely so she would happily give you a pardon, princess Luna on the other hand...Β

THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES!!! Why does no one ever think of them, flare never specified the moral alignment of the person who has to die to destroy the element of darkness (I don't remember the name of harvest's crown), so killing harvest would be the perfect alternative to either twilight or star flare dying

I know he thinks it is the only way he can be forgiven and all but seriously he was just reunited with his kid and beaten by some people who also want to help. If he want redemption or whatever then why doesn't he just help them and stop attacking them??

Which is exactly why I believe that Metal-Kitty will give us a better ending than that. Especially considering this twist that he JUST laid down on us. Starfiare is just plain wrong about the situation.

And to be honest about all this, HE'S the one who actually WANTS to die (I guess) to atone for everything that he's done in the past in Harvest's service, and Twilight has said that SHE doesn't, but feels that she has no choice (thanks to what Star Swirl told her). Β SO, to ME, at least, the choice for who's going to die is obvious.
Now, THAT said, the obvious MIGHT not be what happens, and I know that whatever scenario that Metal comes up with will be a good one. Β
Might not satisfy ALL of us readers, whoever it is who finally DOES die, but I learned a loooooonnnnnngggggggg time ago NOT to try to second-guess our revered author.
And me, neither. Β I guess that we'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
