Yes, folks, that is a black panther wearing a pink thong. There are a lot of reasons why I chose to go with that:

-One of the animals associated with the original Dionysus is the panther. He's also associated with goats, but I decided to go with the panther, because I had been wanting to have a panther character who wears a pink speedo. So here, I saw my chance. xD

-Dionysus was also known to be rather effeminate, even to the point of wearing women's robes. Plus he's very much a pleasure-seeker, a hard drinker and very much bi. And after I came across a certain pic on FA, one of a male Easter bunny wearing a pink thong with ribbons, I knew I had found the apparel of Dionysus. Lol...

Dionysus has the misfortune of being dismissed as a mere party boy with low (if any) intelligence and questionable sanity. But it would be a mistake to dismiss the panther, as he is very much capable of incredible feats of strength, acrobatics and bravery.

And what's more, Dionysus has the power to see into the future, even more so than Apollo does... but this is actually the reason why the panther behaves so erratically: seeing into the future is usually portrayed as not good for one's mental health, and Dionysus is no exception. And what's more, he never knows what he's seeing is the *actual* future, or just a possible outcome. He has witnessed many different possibilities for certain events, all with different outcomes: sometimes, if he interfered, things would change for the better... or for the worse. Other times, if he didn't interfere, things either wouldn't change... or something else entirely different would happen.

Thus, Dionysus turns to wine to help himself cope with the burden these visions bring him. Interestingly, that's another superpower the panther has: he can live on wine and alcohol, and it won't hurt him. He loves wine, and it loves him back. He doesn't get a beer belly from it, it doesn't give him any health problems, it's practically like *breathing* for him to drink so much.

So it's not necessarily all that wine that makes Dionysus act like all loopy, but rather his prophetic visions.

Dionysus has a very good relationship with his half-brothers Apollo (who can also see into the future, but not nearly as often or as clearly) and Hermes (who acts like a big brother to him). The panther even had an affair with Aphrodite at some point.
