Description
Yet another OC I created for Geist's gang. And yes, it is a rabbit.
I guess I was mostly inspired by Plundor from the "He-Man" series, but I also was inspired by Bunnymund from "Rise of the Guardians". Like with Raptor, I was unable to come up with a name for him myself, so I asked my viewers for suggestions. suggested the name "Jasper" and it just stuck out to me. Plus, jaspers are usually red in color, which matches his outfit, so that seemed to fit.
A bit on Jasper's personality/skills/background:
Don't ask me what kind of rabbit he is, because that is not important, nor do I have any interest in that either. But what I can tell you is that Jasper can be described as an opposite of Vladimir the polar bear, who's supposed to be all brawn and no brain. This rabbit has plenty of brawn, as you can see, but he's not nearly as big as Vlad, or as Prowl and Sheng Long. He's about the same size as Raptor, though, standing at 6'6". And he's smart, too. In fact, Jasper's a bit of a 'hot scientist'; he can create formulas and inventions that can help Geist and the others against the Road Rovers.
(So I guess in that sense he's also inspired by Tech E. Coyote from "Loonatics Unleashed". Except Tech wasn't a rabbit. XD)
However, Jasper's not exactly loyal-minded either. He won't desert like how Tsunami and Raptor did, but he often does resent being pushed around by the others, particularly Geist (though on some level he fears Geist). I can see Jasper being paired up with Vladimir often, though, just for laughs. Jasper would be the mad scientist and Vladimir would be his bumbling assistant. X)

He was an ordinary lab-rabbit to begin with.

I'm pretty stoked to see someone else who thinks that non-canine animals would be believable to have as anthros in the Rover-verse. This a pretty cool character concept. You don't see too many evil rabbits around, so I'm digging Jasper. Is he supposed to be a mutant or is he a sapient? Asking because of how buff he is, since one would kinda expect a rabbit to be slimmer being runners and all. Also, is the outfit just for show and he wears something sturdier in battle/or on missions? Because this costume may show off his build, but won't do much to protect him from say, a heat vision beam courtesy of Exile.

I'm not the only person who thinks non-canine anthros would exist in the Rover-verse. Jasper was very much inspired by , who's already done a whole bunch of non-canine anthros. In fact, there have been several non-canine anthros in the actual show, such as the felomutants, the fishmutants, and the crocmutants.
But thanks, yeah, I'm glad you like Jasper. As for what he is, I'd say he's more mutant than sapien, because he was created by MDT's OC, Dr. Psycho, who is the one who creates members for the MAS (Mutant Assassination Squad), and who also believes that his creations deserve their own free will (unlike Parvo, who makes all his canomutants mindlessly loyal to him).
Like I said in the description box, Jasper's design was based a lot off of Plunder, a "He-Man" character (who is both a rabbit and a villain), so I didn't really take into account the whole rabbit/runner thing. But Jasper is more like the scientist/inventor of the group as opposed to a fighter, hence why he doesn't wear as much protective armor as the others. He is a fierce fighter, though; he just prefers to allow his gadgets to do his fighting for him.
I guess if we're talking warding off heat vision, Jasper could always just dodge (rabbits are pretty good at that, no?) or create a force-field gadget.

That's awesome to hear. It makes sense that they'd exist. I mean at some point, Parvo, the Master, or whoever would recognize the fact that other animals have abilties that can be just as handy (if not moreso) as those of canines. Now, the Felo-Mutants and Piranha Mutants I definitely remember, but not the Croc Mutants.
You're welcome. The Mutant Assassination Squad? Why am I reminded of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad from Kill Bill? Seriously though, the MAS sounds intriguing.
*nods* I can see that. And evil inventors always make for good foes.
Good points. You got me. XD

Thanks. Oh yes, though I always was under the assumption Parvo used dogs as a way of getting revenge on the breed because he, as a cat, hated dogs and wanted to enslave them. And what better way than turning them all into mindless soldiers? But yeah, the Crocmutants were in "Gold and Retrievers", though I too had completely forgotten about them. Though that makes sense, considering that they appear in only 3 shots and don't even do anything; they just stand on each side of Parvo's throne with their arms crossed. You can find the episode on bing videos so you can recheck.
Rofl, MDT and I spoke a few times about there being Kill Bill references our fanmade show. I even once thought of having there be a recurring theme that Colleen often dresses up in iconic outfits worn by famous action girl characters, such as Lara Croft's outfit, Jill Valentine's RE3 outfit, Cammi's outfit from Street Fighter, and of course, Beatrix Kiddo's yellow jumpsuit.
But anyways, thanks!
Yes, they do.
THanks. XD

I've never thought about a secondary motivation for Parvo's turning dogs into Cano-Mutants beyond what he said in the show (their loyally making them perfect soldiers), but that theory makes a lot of sense. You're right about about Crocmutants. "Gold and Retrievers" will be the next episode I watch (BTW, I didn't know the show was on Bing too; I'd been watching it on Daily Motion).
That's an awesome idea. I enjoy little Easter eggs like that.
You're welcome on all accounts!

That's what I plan on being Parvo's deal in my remake; that he was once a normal cat (no time-traveling stuff - well, maybe some, but I'll get into that later) that was abused by humans and attacked by dogs, only to be rescued by Professor Shepherd, whose corrupt partner used "Boots" as an experiment in the canomutator. Only things go slightly wrong in that Parvo gained a warped sense of reality and believed that he had only been rescued for the sole purpose of being used and transformed into a "monster", and so decided to get his revenge on all humankind and dogkind. He decides to make dogs into his soldiers after he realizes that a dog's loyalty can be its downfall.
Actually, I have watched the episodes on Daily Motion; it was through Bing that I found that site.
Thank you! Heh-heh-heh, yeah....

Yeah. I sure would like to have seen how a second season of the show would've handled the whole crazy Parvo time loop thing, because I *still* don't know what to do with it. Time travel's a female dog to handle, IMHO. Your route's easier. I like and agree with that theory. I don't think all villains necessarily require a messed-up past, but in this case it works. I've always imagined he came from a bad past and always was kind of crazy.
Oh. Derp.
Sure, anytime.

MetalExveemon In reply to NicGiraffe [2014-02-06 04:58:01 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the whole time-loop thing filled the show with some of the biggest plotholes I have ever seen. I would still have there be some time-traveling, only it would be a minor detail in that particular episode. But again, I'll get into that later.
And thank you, btw.
And yes, I agree; not all villains need a messed-up past (sometimes, the best villains I've seen don't have messed-up pasts, but you could still tell that they themselves were messed-up), but with Parvo, it just seemed necessary. Thanks again.
Heh-heh, yeah... X)

I really wish there was a 'behind the scenes' type book or something like that for the show, because I really do wonder if Tom Ruegger an the writers were aware of the problems with the particular episode or not.
You're welcome!

Like with MDT's characters, you're designing some very sexy outfits that expose their muscles, especially those abs. I can see the similarity of Bunny from Guardians.
Honestly, he reminds me of Rabbit from the Winnie-the-Pooh series. Maybe he's Rabbit's delinquent brother.

Oh yeah, gotta keep those abs exposed. Lol! But yeah, Bunny had such a handsome cute face, I knew he'd be a much better model than Plundor's face.
ROFL, I actually did think about Rabbit from Winnie-the-Pooh when I was doing this! In fact, now that I think about it, Jasper throws some of the same temper tantrums that Rabbit does. Lol... yeah, maybe he is he's delinquent brother.

Yeah, you're right, it does make him look less combatant-like and more like a scientist.
Although it's not actually a sash - or at least it's not supposed to be. It is supposed to be armor of sorts, but, meh, now I'm not so sure.

Well it was supposed to be, but then you thought it was a sash, and that sounded like an intriguing idea... but now I think I'll just have it be armor. But heh-heh, yeah, I have no idea what to call that either.
I just know I've seen it in animations and TV and movies and such.
