Zoe picked up her mug of herbal tea, flashing the barista a nervous smile in thanks as she headed towards the coffee shop's main seating area. She scanned the crowd, butterflies dancing in her stomach. As her eyes passed over the unfamiliar faces, she felt an odd mixture of disappointment and relief; she wasn't here today.

But then her heart leapt as she saw a flash of auburn hair in the corner of her eye. She was here. The prettiest girl in the world was here.

Zoe clutched her mug like a life preserver in a storm as she staggered to a nearby table, willing herself not to trip, spill tea all over herself, or any number of impossibly dorky things she knew she was capable of. Safely ensconced in a booth, she let out a sigh and did her best to disappear behind her bangs. Once her cheeks had stopped burning and the butterflies had settled some, she pulled out her sketchbook and began doodling distractedly, risking a peek across the coffee shop every few minutes. The prettiest girl in the world: she was only twenty feet away, but she may as well been on another planet.

Zoe let her mind wander as her pencil moved across the page. She saw herself in her mind's eye, not as the scrawny, skinny little thing she was, but plush and plump, her belly round and full, all her body's hard angles turned to soft curves. And, in her daydream, the prettiest girl in the world stepped up behind her and wrapped her arms around her tummy, gently sinking her fingers into the soft, doughy fat and giving her belly a playful jiggle. She whispered in Zoe's ear, teasing her for how chubby she was getting. Zoe's face grew flush once more as she imagined being led by the hand to the bathroom scale where they would see just how much fatter she had become. She could practically taste the delicious moment of anticipation just before her weight was revealed...

Zoe smiled as the daydream played on in her head. One day she'd be brave enough to walk up to the prettiest girl in the world and introduce herself. Not today, and maybe not tomorrow. But one day.
