Yus, I've barely been submitting any drawings lately... I HAVE SO MANY RETARDED WORK IN PROGRESS SKETCHES IT'S NOT FUNNY, I APOLOGIZE FOR MY PROCRASTINATION AND THUS CHANGED MY DEVIANT STATUS. D:

Alright... well, this is pretty old. Those of you who know me IRl already realize that I've had this drawing sitting in my binder for about a month now. I finally took it out and my dad insisted it was done. I edited the colors a bit and added a crappy brush background. It was done completely in ballpoint pen (blue). The kid is pretty upset. What he's drinking is a Red Bull and he doesn't like the aftertaste, so he crushes it after he's finally finished. Afterwards, he will then run up that wall and fall into the tree that I was goingto draw in the background before I got too lazy to keep going on this thing.

This all started as some doodle I started ages ago, and I sort of... went from there. I tried to detail it a lot with hatching, which was a challenge. It's realistic up to the face, I suppose. I NEVER do pen and ink, but I want to try. Pen is fun, only it's really hard because if you make one crucial mistake, you're automatically done for. I screwed up the most on the wall thinger. Plus the proportions suck beyond belief. As always, I discourage crit on this one for a reason. I know darn well what I did wrong here, but I think it's worth showing off what I can do with ballpoint pen. I've come to like exploring with new media. It's fun, especially when I somehow use it correctly.

MATERIALS USED: Ballpoint pen on bristol board (Even pen is good on this paper! Better than copy paper!) and colors were edited on PSP X. Background was made using PSP also.
