Really loving the colors and the vibrancy of the light! You've inspired me to try this but making a hospital theme!

I got a lot of questions lol! My first question is how did you do that lighting? Im assuming its volumetric? The few times ive tried volumetric it doesnt work. Also the smoothness of the pillows, was that done with creasing a subdivision modifier?

I tried volumetric ligting, but it always buggs me, because it is so slow. So i used some different effects to fake that light spreading. Here is a screen from the render setup: prntscr.com/bxtms9
there is 1 sunlamp for the sharp light coming in, 2 area lamps for lighting it smoothly, the ceiling glows purplish for even more smooth light, there are walls, that ware visible to the scene, but invisible to the camera and some lamps over the desks (emittive material). Here is a clayrender of everything: prntscr.com/bxto85
I also went over the window area with a very smooth yellowish brush in gimp, to enhance the glowing effect. All that helped me getting nic, smooth lighting, without the need for real volume scatter.
The only thing that uses subdiv are the coats and the plants. everythign elese either uses bevel or just has smoothed vertices and a high polycount.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I'll have to try those methods out.

Ooooo. This is nice.
I really like the bold lines on the outside. They add a nice finishing touch to it.
It's a interesting picture all around. After I get bored of one part of the image I can just move my eyes around a tiny bit and there's something new and interesting.
Awesome job Mezaka.

This is really cool! The colours of everything remind me of the game Mirror's Edge.
I especially like how the shot is isometric, yet it doesn't feel flat at all. Great work. ^^

Thank you! Even though it is based on concepts for Streamline by Tohad, this really has some mirror edge type of feeling... very few, but strong colors are crucial for that look.

I'm a fan of Tohad's work myself. I really need to stop being lazy and start making stuff again. XD
This style is just so pretty. I should give it a shot. : )
