Description I know i'm not a professional or anything, but i thought perhaps it might help out SOMEONE, just to see my process

As stated above, these rules do not always apply depending on the lighting, though for the most part following these rules should suffice in helping to create brighter, more visually appealing objects.

Also remember to take into account backlighting/reflective light! For example, if a shiny ball is on a blue table, the blue colour may reflect upwards onto the ball.

FYI, this tutorial is not how to shade. Just how to pick the colours FOR the shading process.

Let me know if it was any help, thanks for looking!

EDIT: Just realised I misspelled palette as "pallette" in the tutorial... please ignore my idiocy! Thanks

True, yellow will be yellower than orange... but red is neither bluer nor colder than orange, your example doesn't help define what would be "darker" in this case.

When i say "bluer", a am referring to the colour picking tool on photoshop (and numerous other drawing programs). Where a colour wheel is present, drag the slider towards the blue end, in the direction opposite of the yellow end... if that makes sense.

So for example, yellow > orange > red > pink > purple > dark blue

The slider is being taken closer and closer to the final hue.

I hope that clears it up slightly!

I think it would help you to read [link] from beginning to end and make lots of notes along the way.
