You think so? I try to open the diaphragm as wide as I can (of course the important things must be still in the focus then) to blur as much background as possible because a more detailed background is just annoying to me.

Mit was bist du lieber unterwegs? Mit deiner Canon oder der Nikon?
Ich hab mir mal zum Testen eine D1X gekauft und war mächtig enttäuscht. Vor allem vom Weißabgleich und dem Rauchverhalten. Jetzt hab ich ne D2x ersteigert. Mal sehen wie die so ist...
Aber die Nikon Linsen scheinen auch nicht gerade toll zu sein. Zumindest die, die ich bisher probieren konnte. Und ein eingefleischter Nikon Fan sagte auch, dass die Objektive aus der manuellen Zeit um Längen besser waren.

Ein Freund von mir hat eine 70-200 f/4 L. Auch ganz nett, aber f/4 ist halt nicht f/2.8 und das spürt man schon.
Ich bin aus Prinzip Canonfan (hab die 30D zum spielen und liebhaben 
Also ich muss sagen das Ding schlägt sich ganz gut. Vor allem wenn die richtige Optik drauf ist. Hab mal bei ISO 4000 und paar gequetschte, zum Spass drinnen geschossen und das Resultat war eigentlich ganz anständig obwohl da der Weissabgleich völlig daneben war (ich schiess aber eh nur RAW und dann spielt das so gut wie keine Rolle).
All zu viel Erfahrung mit Nikonlinsen hab ich ehrlich gesagt nicht, aber ich denke es gillt generell dass manche manuelle Objective viel besser sind als was heut zu Tage gebaut wird, egal ob Canon, Nikon oder was anderes.

Das 4,0er hat den Vorteil noch einen Tick besser zu sein was die Abbildungsleistung angeht, aber das sieht man wohl auf den Bildern eh nicht und Blende 4 ist eben nicht 2,8 wie du schon sagst.
Bei Canon sind die Objektive tatsächlich besser als aus den Analogzeiten. Ich habe noch einige Analogobjektive im Schrank (viel später bei ebay gekauft - als Schüler konnt ich mir nur ne Minolta mit Fremdobjektiven leisten.) aber gegen die aktuellen der L-Serie kommen die nicht mal annähernd ran! Das 50mm 1,8 II und die Kit Objektive zählen da natürlich nicht. Da wurde aufs Geld geschaut und viel Plastik verbaut. Aber ich hab bei Nikon die teureren Linsen angeschaut und war acuh wenig begeistert. Das 85 1,8 ist bei Canon der Preis-Leistungs Tipp schlechthin. Bei Nikon ist das ne rechte Gurke die eine Menge Spiel in der Mechanik hat und "relativ" grausame Bilder liefert. Man hat mir dann das 85mm 1,4 empfohlen, das wäre gut. - Das wäre mir dann aber doch zu teuer um nur mal auszuprobieren.
