A closeup of how the bag is attached to the tripod. The tripod comes with the little ring there to attach stuff to, and I bought the little carabiner at a dollar store. Not to be used for climbing!

Anyway, the bag adds some useful extra weight to the tripod, and it's also nice to keep it off your back or the ground. Easy access for filters etc as well of course. I would say that the extra weight is good for stability, however if it is windy, the bag be more of a problem than a solution as it may catch the wind, making the tripod move more. I've not actually done any tests with this in windy conditions however, so I don't yet know if it's a help or a hinderance if it's windy.
