Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic or just complaining about nothing, but I remember a time where zombies were actual walking corpses, as opposed to random pedestrians covered in dirt and blood that just run around making snarling noises.Art © Me

I think most of the "zombie genre" nowadays is actually thinly veiled political commentary on the state of modern society. Grr, capitalism turns people into mindless consumer drones or something, GEE I WONDER WHAT THE ZOMBIES COULD BE SYMBOLIC FOR.
While that's not a bad thing in and of itself, the fact that every single goddamn zombie franchise right now is doing it is really starting to get old.
Warm Bodies looks fun, though. It looks more like a self-aware romantic comedy that happens to have been set in your typical zombie apocalypse setting, rather than a typical zombie apocalypse movie with romantic subplot. (That's an important difference.)
And you really don't see too many zombie flicks that have a cure in them, either. (Because you can't cure **insert controvertial sociopolitical term here**, CAN YOU??)
I'd really like to see more works that return to the more monstery, magically-created, B-Movie type zombies, though. Those kinds are just inherently more fun due to how illogical they are.

I prefer old zombies too. more classic and classy compared to snarling raging angry zombies who look like they just want to chew you up all over, rather than just aim for brains. in L4D, It looks like the zombies just want to beat the shit outa you!!

Well, I guess you can consider the zombies that can run as more of the "Infected" and actual zombies as,well, zombies...
The Infected in Left 4 Dead don't eat at all, as you noticed, they just destroy...

Oh let's not forget the "twilight" of zombies....Warm bodies...they couldn't make that more of a twilight film then the actually twilight films

At least the relationship in Warm Bodies is meant to be humorous, the characters are the same age, and it isn't a forced relationship.
The reason Twilight is so horrible isn't the fact that they got the vampires wrong, or that it's a vampire-human romance. I could really care less if the vampires sparkled or whatever if the rest of it wasn't such tripe.
It's that the relationship of the main characters is pretty much based around Edward being an immensely creepy and psychotic stalker, possessive, abusive, and a borderline pedophile. Meanwhile, Bella is a completely helpless, vapid, blank doormat of a girl. That's why it's terrible.

I find it funny how the cover of the book has a quote from Stephenie Meyer that is neither positive nor negative, and does nothing to say whether or not the book was liked by her or not, and seems to be there only to promote the book to a larger audience (I.e. the twilight readers)

Well, part of this issue is that nowadays people like to throw around the word "virus" as a catch-all for their zombies.
