This is the second close up picture that stunned me today. It really makes my heard beat a little bit faster or pump a little more blood in me... I feel like this really.
The nice graduated warm background is stunning and brilliant. It looks like heaven is about to descend to this little flower. The colors are stunning, vivid and the contrast seems natural. As for the technique of this macro shot, I will say that I'm impressed. To see a small flower and to take a chance, a leap of faith and lower the camera to take a picture like this is really telling me that you have an eye for things.

The title of the photo "Signs of Spring" add a sort of story to the photo, and adds more meaning behind it. With the title, it symbolizes new life, as flowers are just about to bloom and new leaves are forming. The title suits this photo very well without being generic and mundane, yet being descriptive of the mood and feel of this photo.
Speaking of mood, The overall tone of this photo is very subtle and gentle. The vivid, yet calming colours add the symbolism of new life, and of course spring. The placement of the subject is also considered optimal, as it follows the rule of thirds. However, as there are other , more striking colours against the background and foreground (The long green grass in the background, and the yellow/green moss in the foreground) I personally feel my eye is drawn to the contrasting colours rather than what I SHOULD be looking at - the flower. Without the greenery in the background, the foreground wouldn't have seemed overwhelming either.
On the contrary, as for the overall colour scheme of the photo, the purple tone is a very lovely shade, but seems to drown out the flower as well, since it's purple as well. I'm not sure how much this photo had been touched up with vivid colours and the like, but I feel the colours are all too alike, and don't serve to have the subject stand out, it rather blends in.

I love this picture. It is a very balanced macro picture. The important in macro photography is staying "in and out of focus" at the same time, which results in revealing the smaller details and hidding the surroundings. You have achieved that in an important level.
The common problem with macro photography is the overal feeling of the picture. Most macro pictures I've seen loose that thing. The cost of detail is the feeling and the intention of the photographer.
Lastly, I like the colors. You've choosen a good cross-process coloring for this certain picture which effects greatly the mood.
