Ammy turned to glare at him. “I would never do that! …Okay, maybe I would. But not without reason! Not unless I was really, really bored and there was nothing else to do, kind of like…now…” She petered off and fell silent, decidedly ignoring Kamik’s derisive snort. Okay, so Kamik had a point. But so what? She had a right to voice her opinion on the boring jobs he wanted to do. At least when they had been being chased by a swarm of overly territorial Zubat, it had been exciting! Ammy gazed listlessly around the room, searching for something (anything, please!) to relieve the boredom. And then, she saw it. It was small, and innocuous, and it was completely perfect.

“Hey, Kamik? Do you think Gunpowder would be mad if we put glue in his inkpot?”

“Hn.” Kamik grunted. And then Ammy’s words sank in and hit like an Explosion to the face. “WHAT? Why would you want to put GLUE in his INKPOT? That…That’s not crazy, that’s SUICIDAL!” Kamik took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of his nose to hold back a headache. “Don’t do it, okay? I’m almost done here, and then you’ll be free. Just a few more minutes. ” Turning away, Kamik started to count under his breath for the next interruption. 1…2…3…

“… Kamik?”

There we go. And there was just one letter left… Sighing, he muttered, “Yes, Ammy?”

“Too late. Get ready to run.”

Welp. This was my first time writing a story snippet to go with the deviation, I hope it's ok. And the character on the inkpot isn't Japanese, it's the Chinese word for 'ink'. Because the Chinese I've been forced to learn for the majority of my life ought to come in handy at least some of the time.
