Description
"FIRE!"I think Wheeler is spiffy, I really do. He's a bit of a jerk, sure, but he looks so darn cute doing it. And I mean, come on - he controls FIRE for goodness sake! Especially when he's been given a chibi treatment
This started as a sketch in the margin of my notebook, then evolved into this. I scanned it into my computer, enlarged it, then printed it and traced it onto Charcoal paper with oil pastel. I then spent several hours coloring it with the pastels...and came up with this
Wheeler/Captain Planet (c) Turner, Inc.
February 26, 2008.

He's the only Planeteer with a last name too: Sloane!
That's actually the coolest way to present him, too.

Thanks so much! I was pretty pleased with how it came out, especially considering I hadn't touched oil pastels for over a year

ARE YOU SERIOUS!?! This is epic. I love Captain Planet. I was actually Wheeler for Halloween! Super great job on the pastels, you really used the looseness (sp?) to your advantage with this one. for sure!

DEAD SERIOUS!!
Oh my god, you were Wheeler for Halloween? That's AWESOME! I'm of the correct lineage to pull off a decent Linka, descended from Eastern European Jews so I'm blonde and all that jazz...but I keep dying my hair pink, plus it's a little short. I'd need a wig. I'd like to do it eventually, though. I Captain Planet
Thank you! I had a lot of fun working and re-working the details with the pastels. I think I may have finally found a medium that works with my loose, sketchy style!
I'm so glad you like it

You totally should dress as Linka just because. Then I could photoshop you into a picture of me and my friend who dressed as Ma Ti. haha. Yeah I had to wear a wig for wheeler, it was all poofy and orange. I did a pic of Captain Planet lastnight. [link] haha/

Haha, that'd be amazing XD
Linka is definitely high on my list of costumes to pull together. I'll have to move quick, though - I only get access to all the American resources (aka thrift stores with things that fit me and mom's endless supply of fabric and sewing machines) until the end of August! Then it's off to Japan...for a year @_@;

Yeah seriously!! And why is the hero you summon to eliminate pollution WEAK to what he's fighting?! Sometimes that show just doesn't make sense...but it's entertaining nonetheless!

I feel it's necessary to write out the process because otherwise people might make incorrect assumptions. Glad you appreciated it

I sometimes do and sometimes don't. I suppose it depends on how important I think it is to a piece
