  Cassian closed his eyes and nestled his face further into Alisaie's head. He held her tighter and closer to him. I know.

I've been having lots of brainworms about my ffxiv ocs recently, and so I've been slowing writing small story snippets to flesh out my characters and their roles in the overarching narrative of the game. It's been really fun and it inspired me to draw a quick illustration of one of my favorite scenes that I wrote!

The characters are Cassian (my Warrior of Light) and Alisaie (game NPC) as they try to offer each other comfort and hope during one of their most trying times. This particular scene takes place during the post-Stormblood msq, sometime before the Battle of Ghimlyt Dark.
Most everything in Cassian's life has all gone to shit during this time- with his family dying, friends disappearing, and his own mental sanity breaking. The sole comfort he has left is Alisaie, his dear friend who he loves as his little sister and protects as if she were his daughter. Cassian successfully manages to dissuade her fears and give her hope, but unbeknownst to her and the world, Cassian is terrified and lost, with no idea how to fix the problems they're in. But he can't let them know that, not now not ever.

Loved drawing the cozy atmosphere in this one!! It was also a challenge to see how well I could make a piece look without making it too detailed. Think it turned out alright!
