SPEEDPAINT: A Feeling That Transcends Time - FFXIV Speedpaint

BRBRBRBBRRBRBR I HAVE MANY THOUGHTS ON AZEM/WOL/VENAT/THE ANCIENTS

Endwalker really came out here and gave me the best, hottest, most heart-wrenching character in Venat and GOD I fell in love with her almost instantly. Mommy crystal, my beloved Now, while I think she's the golden standard of wife material, I really wanted to know what Cassian, my Warrior of Light, thought and felt about her. And oh boy did thinking about that leave me in emotional shambles. :")

Cassian's Azem, Solaris, was Venat's apprentice when she was still in the Convocation. Venat found Solaris as a child and raised him as her own son, teaching him everything he knows about magic, combat, travelling, and the world they live in. Because of this, Solaris grew to love and think of Venat as his beloved mother and dear mentor. Even years later, once Solaris grew up and became the current Azem, him and Venat remained very close. Once, Solaris took Venat to a gorgeous field of flowers so they could witness the sunrise together, a scene he knew they'd both appreciate given their mutual love for travelling and scenery (pictured on the left).

And so, eons later, when Cassian was transported back in time to Elpis, he met Venat again. Expecting to dislike Venat after what Hydaelyn had put him through, Cassian was in a for a shock when he ended up growing to love and care for her. They grew close in their short time together and Cassian realized that she reminded him of his own mother; a kind and compassionate soul with a streak of mischievousness. Venat too, felt herself drawn to Cassian in the same why she loved Solaris, as her son. Before Cassian left Elpis, he wanted to take a lovely memory with him, a reminder that there was still joy to be had in the world (pictured on the right).

Unbeknownst to Cassian, the moment they shared was much alike to the one with Solaris in that same shimmering field of flowers. It was a beautiful moment of joy. A feeling that, Venat would later come to realize, would transcend time.
I love them so much
