Description I was watching some previews in Last Exile: First Move DVD and I caught a glimps of a Japanese Chime in one of the said previews. From there I thought to myself that there are at least three different tones(A single hit, a hit on the reverb, and a counter-reverb hit) from that single bell chime. So why not make more noise, was the next step in my thinking process. Make it have more "leaves" to to hit at different tones. From there it will echo into the "bell" of the chime and make different sounds. And it can make a varity of tones to play from it's single hits, hit on the rebound/revereb, and counter-hits on it's "leaves".

So I just whipped it out, my laptop, and drew it out. So here is the rough draft; raw, undeveloped, and most likely already made by someone else.

If it isn't made by someone else, then I claim it MINE!! Which I can't really do because a patient costs like, a thousan'd dollars or something. I dunno, I don't have the spare cash to spend it anyways.

I'm just posting this here just to make you think a little. Maybe a smidgeh'd of thinking.

You should consider taking up glassblowing and bring this design into reality.

I just realised that a simple Vase would do the trick. All I would need is some glass cutters, string, alumninum plate, and a thick rubber washer. Then paint the glass any way I felt like.
