Nice colours and shapes.
Don't mind me asking but what is the thinking behind the high it count on ABox Mod Kali.
It's something I have seen before and don't understand. Also why do you colour the cuts since I
don't think you have made any? Can you put this novice straight please

I am not sure about the high count on the Kali, I went back and looked at it, and it doesn't effect the outcome of the fractal until it is in it's 20 or so. I notice it was set at 48 in your parameters, I didn't look at Russ's parameters.
I didn't color the cuts. I just didn't use a map, and the lighting setting I started with had it set to on. Is there a way to turn them off, besides using a map?
I usually go through all my lighting settings, and when I come across the perfect fog and lights, then I work with the coloring, be it through M3Ds gradients and then through with maps. More recently I have been trying to use maps for lighting sources.

It does tend to smooth edges with some of the formulas and yes it is in Russ' piece.
Maybe the cuts colouring relates to the normal colouring and is automatic!
You helped me eliminate processes that I don't need to focus on. It's difficult at first
to know what is accidental and what is deliberate.

Yeah, I only change the "cuts" coloring when I have actual cuts.
I notice with some formulas, you can change the actual shape as you play around with the interations, I usually go up and down the scale numbers. I have been so frustrated sometimes with the program, that I learned that if I find something cool I make sure I at try to save it. I have been learning by trial and error mostly.
